Best serious story I have seen in a long time. Great work, effects were amazing.

FOS ENTRY: Animation: 10% Done, Editing: 0% Done, Voice actors: 0%

Re: The Button

That was a great movie. Though there were a few points were the animation was spotty, it was all around a great movie! Was this your first brickfilm?

Yeah the animation was pretty weak at some points, and yes this is my first (finished) brickfilm.

Re: The Button

Well, it was well produced I'll give it that.   The quality of the VFX are great but unfortunately they didn't save the film.  The animation wasn't very good, the story a tad confusing, and the voice acting was okay at best.  It seems like you had a good story to tell but it just wasn't executed right.  Although to be fair I might be going a little too hard on this movie because I was expecting a lot from it.

Overall I found it enjoyable.  It's obvious a lot of work went into The Button and I applaud you for the effort.  It shows a ton of potential for being your first Brickfilm.

Are you kidding? The voice acting was superb! I think you could work some on your animation, it was a tad choppy and there was some light flicker. The visual effects were stunning! Great job on the mouth animation, I really loved that. All in all it was a nice film that kept my attention through all 15 minutes. I'd give it a 4/5 for sure! You have great potential at becoming an awesome animator. Just work on it! mini/smile

Re: The Button

Well, the VFX sure was amazing. But I think you could've work a bit more on the animation, and the story I think was a bit too confusing. The voice acting wasn't bad at all, though I thought that maybe all the characters had a bit too deep voice. Though I like the fact you challenged yourself making a longer dialog brickfilm. Overall, I'd give this film 3.7/5 -
great job! Hope to see some more brickfilms from you! mini/smile

Re: The Button

Overall, an EXTREMELY good film.  This goes on my list of favorite brickfilms.  The CG was implemented very well, and the story came together great.  I only noticed two bad things throughout the entire film.  On occasion, the animation seemed a little choppy.  And two, Whenever there was a break in someone talking, and someone else started to talk again, I could here clicks where the audio was added in.  I'm pretty sure I read about this on the Christian Filmmakers forum, and you said you're entering this in SACIFF.  I recommend before you enter this, you fade in and out all the audio with talking.  If you've already entered it, it's fine, it's not really that noticeable, especially to anyone who is not a filmmaker.

I didn't think so at all.  It's a great break from hearing a bunch of kids voices in brickfilms.

How so?  I understood everything perfectly.  I think you might mean at the start, you were unsure were the story was going.  It's called good writing.  I don't think that the film even said anything about a button until

Spoiler (click to read)

Wade found someone offering him a second chance in his apartment.

It adds a lot to a film when the end is hidden until 1/2 to 3/4 of the way through, unlike a lot of other films, where you know exactly where it's going.

Re: The Button

Animartian, some people have just different opinions. If you think that the voice acting was a nice break from hearing childish voices in brickfilms may be because it isn't the easiest thing to make a brickfilm like this one, and lots of this site's members are still young. Therefore, those are just my opinions, not everyone's. You may love this, I may not. It is a difference of opinionnnnnn mini/troll

Re: The Button

NICE! Like they said before, the animation wasn't the best that I ever seen. But the story and effects made up for it.
I really liked the Biblical undertone, too many brickfilms are just meaningless, but this had a lesson to teach. And a very valuable one at that. Keep up the good work!

Re: The Button

Eh. One of those eye-candy films lacking a developed plot/script. The voice acting was okay at best.

2.9/5

Re: The Button

Just want to make this clear to everyone: If you're having a hard time understanding the film, it's probably because you don't understand the underlying allegory. mini/wink

Ehm...I do not slightly think you're right in that one.
