Rapid Aging Effect

A quick little video I threw together to test filming at 15 Fps and a grotesque rapid aging effect. I think it turned out quite nicely.

Hey, Last Resort Humor, welcome to BiM. mini/smile

Tests should be posted here in the WIPs and tests section. The Releases forum is for final products.

Re: Rapid Aging Effect

And how does one do that? ( mini/lol  I feel like the technologically impaired duck.)

Re: Rapid Aging Effect

Hey that was a nice test, lots of set bumps and light flicker but the actual ageing animation was nice and fun.

The main part of the test was the rapid ageing and 15fps, not the walking (although I would recommend watching this and investing in a sturdy tripod).

I, myself, really liked the rapid ageing. It looked pretty good at 15fps. I liked how you made his skin come off, that was pretty cool. Perhaps you could use the same technique to make his cloths come off with plasticene, then he could turn into a skeleton. mini/wink

And welcome to BiM!

I wasn't using a tripod, (I just taped my webcam to the baseboard) my regular tripod doesn't really work with my webcam. And I was just making the test for fun, so I wasn't concerned with leg movement.

Re: Rapid Aging Effect

Just out of interest, what camera are you using? Because if you're using a webcam a lot of people make lego structures to hold them still. Perhaps try that. mini/wink

I'm using a Logitech HD Quickcam Pro. And I think it's just a matter of getting some stronger tape, but I'll experiment a bit and see what works.

Re: Rapid Aging Effect

For better image quality, you want as bright and soft and equally distributed lighting as possible!

As others have already pretty much pointed out all of the flaws in the 'foreplay', I'm just going to say that the aging effect was great. Nice job and welcome to Bricks In Motion.

Re: Rapid Aging Effect

Looked quite nice! The light flicker was quite noticeable, but the actual rapid aging effect was very good!
