ta. there's actually no texture on the axe, just the way the material looks. I've thought about adding a bump map but i've been told it's quite slow to render. ZP this was made in maya rendered with mental ray.

Seems like a neat program, however, when it comes to my talent for creating special FX I'm a bit of a two-watt bulb. If this is easy enough to figure out I might give it a shot.
