Now there can be peace between the Adventure Time thread and the Doctor Who thread.

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

Hahaha! xD
I love that.

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

I'm not going to post reviews in this thread any-more because I'm probably really offending fans of the show. If you like the show - that's awesome. Good on you for actually enjoying something in life. But I just dont like the way the show is going. I think Series 6 is an improvement over Series 5, but I really cannot put my finger on why I dont like the new era other than I hate the writing. Moffat definitely has a smaller ego than RTD, and I feel like I should prefer Moffat over RTD, but I dont.

I think I'm still really disappointed that Moffat has not made another 'Blink' or another 'The Girl in the Fireplace'. I think he's best at writing the episodes in-between the main story-arc, which go off into a separate self-contained storyline which contains genuine fear and emotion. Obviously, as head-writer, you cant do that. Plus, I think the guest-writers are terrible. The only episode that had any kind of emotion and depth (IMO) was 'Vincent and the Doctor', and that's because it was written by the legendary Richard Curtis (who has written three of my favourite British Sitcoms: Blackadder, The Vicar of Dibley, and Mr Bean). Even then, I didn't think 'Vincent and the Doctor' was as good as my favourites from the RTD era (the ending IMO made the whole episode seem really redundant, and the mutant chicken monster was.....stupid. But anything containing Bill Nighy is worth my time)

But, the reason I'm not going to post any reviews in this thread any-more is because I just repeat what I have said over and over and over and over and over again. And its obvious I'm not ever going to write a positive review because as much as I try to like the Moffat-era, it just cant seem to do any right for me (yet). I dont want to spoil anyone's fun, and I'm sure everyone is sick of me saying "THAT WAS THE WORST EPISODE OF DOCTOR WHO I HAVE EVAR SEEN IN MY LIFE!1!!111!" when they actually really liked it (again: nothing wrong with that). I feel like I'm trolling, which is something I dont want to do.

So, most likely I wont post in this thread again. I'll continue watching the show - but since any pain caused by it will be self-inflicted, I wont share it here. I'll either moan about it on Twitter, or I'm considering doing Video reviews (I might even do reviews of my most hated episodes from Series 5).

That being said, I may talk about the upcoming 'Torchwood' if its any good....

A part of me just died.

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

I think that's actually a pretty intelligent idea, Max.
(No offense intended) mini/smile

So, does anyone know when more episodes will start up?

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

Screw the haters. You keep rollin' Max.

Autumn, but I'm not sure when, I don't think they've released a date yet. Looking forward to it though.

Recently I've been watching the other Matt Smith episodes on BBC, I missed them. They're pretty good. I really enjoyed the weeping angel one, I can't wait to see part 2 of it on friday.
I actually think that I'm starting to like Matt Smith more than David Tennant now. Tennant seemed like a computer geek, which is fair enough, the doctor being a geek does fit him. But I prefer Matt Smith because he seems more of a nutty professor, and I think that suits the doctor more than being a nerd. Tennant also seemed a bit human at times.

'Let's kill Hitler' actually sounds quite good though. Don't know why, it might be rubbish, I just like the sound of it. And I hope to see the return of a few of the other enemies, like the daleks and the weeping angels.

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

Thank you filmfire! Thats exactly why I prefer Matt over-overrated Tennant!
David Tennant is a great Doctor but he is soooo much human I didn't even see a difference between the Time-Lord Tennant and the Human-Tennant from Human Nature and The Family of Blood. He feels and looks so much non-Alien.
Smith on the other hand both sounds and looks like a time-lord. The way he acts the way he sounds and the way he moves. He is perfect on everything he do and looks just like he's a time-lord, dresses up a bit "uhm..." with a bow-tie and his hair is everywere. He is the Doctor for me and he should be the Doctor for many other people.

Max I don't think you should leave this thread. I loved reading your opinions that are always the opposite of my opinions which was always exciting.

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

Best Doctor Who toy ever?

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

He's especially human in human nature. xD
But, yeah, I'm starting like 11 more, I still love 10, but 11 is just so cool. mini/smile

I really want some more Dalek episodes. mini/tongue I've been missing them.

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

WHA-TH-W4&"#

More Dalek episodes is the last thing we need. We have been getting 2 or more Dalek episodes every single Series so far and i'm happy that Moffat said that Daleks will not be back for a while.
I mean, in Series 1 we got 3, one single and 2 for the finale
In seres 2 we got 2,  the two parter finale.
In series 3 we got like 2-3 I can't remember and that is including a 2 parter somwhere in the beginning.
In Series 4 we got 2 for the finale.
In series 5 we got 3 including for the finale although it was not a big part in the last episode.

But finally they not use the Daleks for a while.

Yay, this is back. I was starting to miss this topic. Trailer for part 2 of the series. Looks pretty good. I hope the weeping angles are in it plenty.

I'm glad this is back too. mini/smile with the new series and all.

I'm kinda afraid of them bringing back the Angels. They made Blink one of the best episodes I've ever seen of any TV show. Just hope they don't over do them...
mini/blankexpression

Still I think they did a great job bringing them back last time. mini/smile

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

After seeing the trailer I'm worried about Steven Moffat making unoriginal screenplays.  I saw a Weeping Angel, a Clockwork killer, cybermen and more monsters from RTD's scripts.

Here's a poster I did when I wanted to make Lego Doctor Who but at the end I didn't.

The Weeping Angels and Clockwork Killers were first featured in Moffat-written episodes. The Cybermen are hardly an invention of Davies'.

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

Just got back from my holiday in Wales. Saw 2 tardisis (?) whilst I was there. One was in someone's garden which I noticed as we drove past, the other was on a trailer in a petrol station.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the new episode next week. And just out of interest, anyone watching 'Tourchwood' at the moment? It's the first time I've watched that too, it's pretty cool. Haven't watched the latest episode yet, but my mum recorded it so we're watching it later.
