Re: The grumpy animator room

Sounds like my kind of room.
Back in 2009 I was making an awesome action thingy with lightsabers and stuff, and it was coming along really great. One problem was, my computer was running out of room to store the data, so I had to put everything on thumbdrives. I think I might have pulled out the thumbdrive without ejecting it or something, but need less to say, I don't use thumbdrives anymore. That was a movie I'd been secretly working on for a very long time, around two or three months. That had me in a deep depression, when I lost it all, for a while. Other than that though, I haven't had anything really horrible happen to me, which I thank god for. After that experience I went out and bought a terabyte, the one I still use to this day, haven't had one problem since.
This reminds me, I should get another terabyte soon, I have less than 300 gigabytes left!

Re: The grumpy animator room

A couple months ago I was making a film called "The Great Artist". When I took a little bit over 1000 frames I tried to preview it, a message popped up saying it's corrupt. I was so mad I didn't want to brickfilm anymore. But after a couple days I got over it and started making films again.

Re: The grumpy animator room

I remember losing about 600/700 frames of animation for my original (and bad) Smoovie entry. Also, whenever I accidentally knock my lamp and it swivels round, completely changing the light in the picture. -_-

Re: The grumpy animator room

I remember when I was editing for BRAWL 2008 and I had just finished and was about to export - then the editing file became corrupt and I had to re-edit the whole thing again in less than 4 hours. I vowed never to use Pinnacle Studio again.

Its 2011, and I've only just replaced it with Sony Vegas.

What I love about Mr Socially Impaired is that if the set is bumped or if something goes terribly wrong, I can try to adjust it and then carry on. In any serious project, I would have to completely re-shoot that shot....

Re: The grumpy animator room

A couple days ago I filmed like 30 Seconds of my ToY film but when I closed the program it asked me if I wanted to save it AND I CLICKED ON NO!!!
(I've already reshot it and it looks 10 times better anyways)

Re: The grumpy animator room

for thac8, i accidentally set the camera on auto (i have no idea why)
needless to say, there was a lot of light flicker.  at the beginning, i started manually correcting each frame in photoshop with the curves adjustment but then (obviously) i ran out of time.

Re: The grumpy animator room

Last year when I was animating my entry for FOS, I took around 500 frames and my animation software froze. I lost all the frames I took. mini/sad

I can't brickfilm for now. See you guys later.

Re: The grumpy animator room

I once stupidly wrote an entire script without saving it.

I left to get a drink.

Came back, and my little brother had closed it without saving it to look at pictures of cars on Google. -_-

Another time when I was still into claymation, I was half way through animating a scene when I knocked a lamp onto one of the figures. His face got partially squashed and melted.

I spent around 4 hours making just the face of that figure.

Google Docs!
Autosaves!

Man, I hate it when I'm brickfilming for like 4 hours and I get 30 seconds of footage.

Re: The grumpy animator room

Sometimes, I'm happy if I filmed for 3 hours and get 30 seconds of footage. xD

Re: The grumpy animator room

3 hours and 30 seconds? In a scene of Viva La Vida, I spent 3 hours animating 2 seconds.

Re: The grumpy animator room

For a shot in 'Bank' My brother spent 6 hours animating a short shot. He's very careful when I have him animate. xD
And for this other series of shots I did, about three of these amazing shots of this really awesome brick explosion, I spent several hours on each shot. It took three days. O.0

President troll more like. mini/tongue Generally I spend the best part of 4 hours getting 8 or 9 seconds. If their good, then I'm fairly pleased with what I've done with my time.

I love how your avy goes with your post.

Re: The grumpy animator room

I always ending up spending a monster amount of time on like a few seconds whenever I'm animating with a friend but I can make an acceptable-length amount of animation when I'm animating solo.
