You say choppy in some places, could you be a little more specific? I would like to know EXACTLY what you mean, because I sure as heck don't want any choppiness in my film.

The running could use some work as the timing and recoil of the person being hit. Work on your timing and make sure to look at some Kung-fu style fight scenes (perhaps download to Quicktime and then watch frame by frame to master timing) and then try animating to those fight scenes (at least the basic movements). It will take some time however, and mastering timing is all about practice.
