I've not been to McDonalds, KFC, Burger King etc in years. I can't remember what they were called, but you can find them on YouTube I'm sure. Search 'Kentucky Fried Cruelty' or something like that. That's only KFC, but the rest of the fast food chains do it too. Also, cows are now being 'mass-produced' in enormous factory things. They're on a conveyor belt 23 hours a day going round in circles eating whatever the owners deem is necessary for good milk/beef and getting milked. They're never outside, like the chickens. Lucky. I gotta go today but guess what! My teacher was in a big car wreck in the beginning of January and now he's back! I had the worst sub ever. She was a real idiot so I'm glad to have my old teacher back.

Ironically, I have a substitute for my history teacher who is on maternity (SP?) leave and I want her to stay but alas no. I have to lose her in two weeks. Blech.

I'm surprised that anyone knows about all that stuff other than me.
You are quite right; any meat at Micky D's or KFC is probably produced in a CAFO, or Confined Animal Feeding Operation.
If you want to learn more on this depressing (but true) subject, there are quite a few movies.
Fresh if the least depressing of the lot.

Just wondered, is there a reason there is no "good things thread" anymore other than just because it got removed in Smeagol's clear-out session?

A great site for upcoming Lego sets is Brickipedia. Just type 'lego 2011' into Google and click on the first link. Any news is posted pretty quickly.

I'm also glad to see we are of the same mind about battery farming, CAFOs et cetera. I detest animal cruelty, and this, in my opinion, is the worst kind of it: things that go unchallenged. Everyone treats it as being okay, but really, these animals are often in pain and suffering. That's as cruel as any abandoned dog.

I too, would like to know about the purge. And the Coffee Shop. It sounds a lot like Cafe Corner, but I'm guessing it has a few differences if you want to remake it.

Nonononono.

See, the "Community" forum, the section with this thread in, used to be named "Cafe Corner".

But it got in a mess, there were a lot of closed threads and stuff, so Smeagol decided to clean up by deleting a lot if not all threads from it, and re-naming it "Community".

Nothing more, but I just wondered, seeing as loads of old threads were recreated, why wasn't the "Good things thread"?

Ooooh, okay. So what was the Coffee Shop? An older version of Cafe Corner? When was the purge?
If the good things thread hasn't been recreated, that perhaps answers your question: no one wanted to recreate it.

Actually I got it wrong lol.

Community was called Coffee shop....

Cafe Corner is this thread, and the original was deleted..

The "purge" as you so colourfully put it was last year at some point I believe.

That's actually not entirely true. The Coffee Shop actually still exists, it's just only viewable by mods
