I'm doing a Titanic-Themed film called 'The Ship That Stood Still' It is also about the SS Californian which
stayed still upon the horizon only 5-6 miles away during the sinking.This is going to be a long film because
I need to fit so much in it! It's gonna a different side to the usual Titanic Story ...

I have a question, can the film just have a historical setting but a completely different resolution?
Ex. During the Cuban Missile Crisis, negotiations fall through and nuclear war starts.
So I had a couple ideas and I would like some feedback. I was wanting to do something in WW2 if I could.
1. The Bataan Death March: Pretty self-explanatory.
2. A squad of samurais in the Japanese Army who are assigned to kill General Douglas MacArthur when he lands in Japan.
Tell me what you guys think.
My film is going to take place in the time of knights. Daniel and the Dragon. For nearly a month I study the time learning their language and now I am calling my cast.

WW2 themes are soon to be all over the place then. We need some more 'original' Ideas. I already have an idea, but rather not share.

On the subject on what I am doing for TOY:
I have two ideas. One is my take off of Bill and Ted:
It's 2010; and the world's harmonious. The two great ones have put their phone booth out to pasture. A boy, an accomplished singer and thespian, finds it, eager to try it out. He gets his girlfriend, and they decide to travel back to when the Beatles were first the Quarrymen. They help them, and they help themselves. They travel to other times; and make good on their promices to change the past. Oh and they listen to great music. It climaxes with the devil returning; and a large battle. In the end; the world was saved; none of the beatles ever died; and the boy ends up as one of the greatest men who ever lived.
The other is a alternative idea; about mickey mouse:
You see; Mickey mouse is a good mouse, never being in trouble. One day he awakes in our world; and has to find his ways back. He battles the ghost of whatever that guy from who framed roger rabbit was; and ends up getting killed. When he wakes up in heaven, he finds out that Walt Disney is god. Walt send him back to earth; and he finds Oswald, only to discover that he has turned evil. Mickey has no choice but to kill him. He does, and the world is saved. Oswald ends up as a plushy.
Which of the two would you rather see me do?

First idea: time travelling isn't incredibly original. Perhaps just setting your film with the Beatles in (was it the sixties?) would be more interesting, but keep the alternate future idea.
Second idea: ... Tales of Yore, and you're doing the death of Mickey Mouse? Sorry, that sounds kinda harsh, but I can't see how it ties in with TOY.
I had also another idea that someone (with experience) could use:
Use (or create) a very old tale set in the middle ages. Make sure it is a bit childish and maybe even with some drawing-backgrounds. When it all ends you find out that the voice (the narrator) is a dad telling a little kid a story. The camera is zooming out and you find out that it's in a large space station. Old and New. And a Tale.
... it's a shame that I have a better one already 
Uh oh, I have to take my TOY script in with me for my film class on friday. Now I wish I had worked on it a little more. (Hopefully my teacher can help me with it.)
I am now making a beatles film.

Just a word of advice to everyone:
time travelling isn't incredibly original.
Don't do a time travel film. It's not historical enough to get (m)any points in the 'theme' category in judging.
