Re: BiM 2011: TOY idea disscussion thread
In films, can you use Incompetech music?
May 2013 update:
Back after taking a VERY FREAKING long break. 14 months, I believe. Anyways I'm going to be making films again. Much better ones.

Just making sure...
I made a comedy western for BiM 2010. It didn't work out very well. You might want to check it out to find what you SHOULDN'T do.
Anyway, I'm still trying to think of an idea that would actually be possible for me to do. My original idea was about the Mary Celeste (the ship). But I decided against it because of the WATER... O_o

I didn't think it was bad, in fact most of the jokes were quite good. Most of the problems were technical.
Wow, I'm surprised at the lack of originality in everybody. Nobody really wants to venture into deep waters. So many people are sticking to more recent history, when you can go back so far. Nobody doing ancient Greece, or Rome, or ancient China. Nobody really digging into medieval times, or even the Renaissance. People could be doing films about famous artists, or composers. Wow, I just thought of a lot of possibilities. I'll admit, I'm not super original either, but I am disappointed by the amount of film Ideas based in the 1900's or in some sort of war. The possibilities are on the verge of endless people.
Now, on another note, I got a lot of work done on my script today, which is good, it may be done sooner than I thought, which means I have to start testing soon.
I think I might do an Atlantis film...

I'm doing medieval... Also I've almost finished my script! And it'll be around 15 psges!
I want my film to be pretty long, but the story is pretty short. I'm about half way done with my script, and I only have 5 pages done.

Be careful.
Though there is no maximum running time restriction, remember that it is better to focus on quality and attention to detail than to make a very long and ambitious film, but let the quality suffer. A highly polished 3 minute movie is better than a 10 minute movie that falls apart as it goes because the director ran out of time to do it the right way. The judging system won't favor a film for simply being longer, but low production values will hurt a longer film when competing against a shorter film that is better made.
Once I get myself some software/hardware I'll start animating, but I suppose I can start scripting in the meantime. You are allowed to enter two entries, right? I've got so many good ideas for this, so I'll make another if I finish early.

Yes, you can, as long as you credit Kevin.
Good, because my idea is about the creation of a music piece that uses one of his pieces. Its inspired by the title of it. Can anybody guess which one?
my film is based on the underground railroad.
Hmm... scrapped my Egyptian & Greece mash-up. Going for something in chinese history. Ninjas, abacuses, and lots of stuff. I'll have a casting call soon!
I am gonna try to make a film based off of the rumor of Paul Mcartney's death that sprouted in 1969.
That's a good idea. Interesting that we have three Beatles-themed entries.
Okay, since nobody bothered to guess what music I'm using I'm just going to say it. It's One-Eyed Maestro, which will also be the title of the animation. It'll be about a maestro (with an eyepatch) that has trouble composing a piece of music until he finally gets it. Then he conducts an orchestra while they play his music.
New sig.
