Re: Match-up Animator - Community Collaboration Competition

The reason for not pairing up the odd ones out is because it would be ridiculously hard. Having too different qualities, styles of animation and stuff would be very hard to work with. If you feel like you would like to give it a shot I'll toss in a few more pairs regardless of their applications.

but you did mention that you would wait for at least 15 pairs and I counted roughly about 6-8

I said that when I was receiving about 2 - 3 per day. However that stopped after about two days, leaving me with very few people left with applications, and nobody sending any in. So I left it. I was also getting a lot of messaging saying roughly "When are you going to start already?" and so I followed it by popular demand.

but maybe next time you will have more time to spend on this

I understand you're annoyed, and your statements are understandable, but I take offense from that comment. FOS has ended, and though the judging is underway I have more time, and this is my only thing running. I spend a good while on this, plus ideas don't just spring up from the ground, I have to spend time on that also.

I hope this post will have answered your questions anyway, and I hope I can maybe make it easier if that's what you wish. So I have two Polls now - so get voting, everyone!

1. Should I delay the deadline?
A. Yes, to new year.
B. Change the date, and do something christmassy for the theme.
C. No, it's fine the way it is.

2. Should I put the odd ones out in pairs as well?
A. Yes!
B. Stay open to submissions and if any matches come up pair them anyway.
C. No, it's grand.

I say A and B. Also, leave the theme: I find it very interesting, and some good brickfilms may come out of this.

Re: Match-up Animator - Community Collaboration Competition

B and A, I dislike the theme very much, I thought no talking was a bad theme, but this one just won't work.

Re: Match-up Animator - Community Collaboration Competition

I'm not really involved with this at all, but I support the theme. A theme being challenging hardly means it's bad or "won't work."

Re: Match-up Animator - Community Collaboration Competition

Just so you know, it's not hard. I've done a few films without Minifigures. It takes ingenuity, I'll give you that, but they are very rewarding. Goldencamerastudios did a lot of that stuff in Small World too.
