The reason for not pairing up the odd ones out is because it would be ridiculously hard. Having too different qualities, styles of animation and stuff would be very hard to work with. If you feel like you would like to give it a shot I'll toss in a few more pairs regardless of their applications.
but you did mention that you would wait for at least 15 pairs and I counted roughly about 6-8
I said that when I was receiving about 2 - 3 per day. However that stopped after about two days, leaving me with very few people left with applications, and nobody sending any in. So I left it. I was also getting a lot of messaging saying roughly "When are you going to start already?" and so I followed it by popular demand.
but maybe next time you will have more time to spend on this
I understand you're annoyed, and your statements are understandable, but I take offense from that comment. FOS has ended, and though the judging is underway I have more time, and this is my only thing running. I spend a good while on this, plus ideas don't just spring up from the ground, I have to spend time on that also.

I hope this post will have answered your questions anyway, and I hope I can maybe make it easier if that's what you wish. So I have two Polls now - so get voting, everyone!

1. Should I delay the deadline?
A. Yes, to new year.
B. Change the date, and do something christmassy for the theme.
C. No, it's fine the way it is.

2. Should I put the odd ones out in pairs as well?
A. Yes!
B. Stay open to submissions and if any matches come up pair them anyway.
C. No, it's grand.

Oh I'd like to take back my application; it's unfair you didn't pair people up even if there the odd one, everybody should have a chance at the same time. I don't mean to sound rude or annoyed that I didn't get a place, but you did mention that you would wait for at least 15 pairs and I counted roughly about 6-8. Of course I'm a bit annoyed also because I really wanted to have a shot at this, but maybe next time you will have more time to spend on this, because you’re currently hosting three competitions if I'm correct?

Well actually you can choose which month you'd like to do, so just say you could do it this month, and leave it for however long you like. The teams thing only lasts a month as it is. But if you feel it'll be too much then I completely understand, and I'm sure there'll be another match for ZP (Studiol30 for one). Thanks for informing me anyway.

Just to let you guys know, we are not be able to do this at this time. We are already very busy, and we now understand that this is a more permanent thing (with teams and all) than we realized. If this was a one-time thing then we might consider doing it, but a monthly thing is way too overwhelming. Please match ZP up with someone else, and take us off the list. We think this challenge is a great idea, however between reviewing films (something we need to start doing more actively), making our own films (for other competitions and our site), and school, we really don't have much free time on our hands. Hope this project is successful, and sorry for any inconvenience we may have caused. :)
