Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The sailor dude is awesome in Creature from the Black Lagoon. Note the new avatar.

EDIT: Jaws
Awesome. Having heard people say that the shark hasn't aged well, I was expecting it to look worse than it did. I didn't actually think it was that bad looking.

Robot Monster
Hilariously bad. I thought it was a little much when Ro Man strangled the little girl, though. And the ending sucked.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I didn't know Sorkin was working on The Social Network, I knew Fincher was directing it, but it wasn't really on my radar. Definitely know I'll be seeing it know.

Temple Grandin
I'm not sure why, but I really enjoyed it. Though at the beginning there were these inconsistent and really annoying graphics flying all over the screen to display ther way she thought about stuff or whatever, but it just seemed really dumb and tacky.

Edit: oh!

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps Yeah, I didn't like it. (Not really any obvious spoilers, but you won't understand much if you haven't seen the film)
The only thing I found interesting was that it's not actually a real sequel or affiliated to the original Wall Street officially, only becuase Michael Douglas' ex-wife has a claim on half of what he earns on all properties prior to their divorce. But that could be absolute rubbish... I suppose that'd be on par with the film itself! oh yeah! good call, self high five.

Anyway, I liked Wall Street, the sleazy, rich and powerful involved in insider trading made it so great, and none of that is in Money Never Sleeps. First Mistake was Shia Lebeouf, seriously, get a real actor. Second was Gekko's redemption, he's a !@#$%^&, changing that ruins his callous and vindictive facade. And I was going to say that Winnie was ridiculous in that she left her partner becuase he tried to invest $100 million she didn't want into green energy, something she was passionate about. But Winne is stupid altogether.

Though Michael Douglas was great, and he had a few good lines during his book launch.

And I saw another movie this week, and I can't remember what it is. Can't have been very good.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Dracula (1931)

"I never drink.........wine"

Its awesome. Although, since its one of the first movies with sound, it has no music (apart from 'Swan Lake' at the beginning, which is now in my opinion the theme tune for Dracula). Lugosi's performance ("Listen to them. Children of the night. What music they make") goes without saying, but Frye as Renfield is great as a psychopath under Dracula's control ("Rats. RATS!!")

My only nitpicks are that whenever Dracula goes to suck someone's blood, the camera either cuts away as he approaches, or fades to black. Its either because they couldn't do blood effects (for a Dracula movie, its REALLY tame. It relies on atmosphere instead) or censorship stopped them from doing anything horrific, but I cant help thinking that Dracula is doing something else to the women other than sucking their blood.....

Also, the ending is an anti-climax - but maybe that's because I'm spoilt by today's intense and elaborate endings.

Spoiler (click to read)

Dracula's death is offscreen. I suppose they couldn't show him getting impaled, but its still an anti climax....

Back in the 30's, all of those stuff were intensly schocking for people, so they couldn't do that stuff, at least you

Pépé le Moko

I liked it. Jean Gabin was definitely the strongest aspect of the film, he had the perfect charisma and screen presence to make Pépé's character believable: calmly restrained in appearance and speech, but still quite capable of acts of brutality.

Really? The camera angles at the start of the zombie invasion made me Rofl alone.
They're both great though.

The Tigger Movie
I loved it. 5/5 (I'm serious, by the way.)

Superman (1978)
Awesome film. Very well made for the time it was made in. But my gosh, the part with the whole romantic sequence with Superman and Lois Lane flying was so stupid. I felt like barfing. 4.5/5

Red River (1948
Nice film. I enjoyed the second half the best. The first half bored me to death. 4/5

True Romance
Still one of my favorites. Love this film.
