Wow, BG. That's intense. Can you explain to me how you did that shot? Is that background CGI?

I animated the bench and road in front of a greenscreen, and made the two buildings in the background CGI. Then I just composited it all into After Effects after rendering it out in Blender.

Can you give me some tips for greenscreening? When I key out the greenscreen, the edge between the lego and the greenscreen looks really crappy. How were you able to make the edge look perfect?

Woah, I completely didn't see this.

The biggest thing you can do is make absolutely sure that there is no green reflection from the greenscreen on the Lego pieces. Then just keep the color of the screen all one solid and you should be off great!

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

I find it quite difficult to not make it reflect onto the legos.

So do I. What works best is putting as much distance between the Lego and the greenscreen as possible. Also, though I've never done this yet, you might want to use a cloth greenscreen instead of tagboard.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

ehhh it's a little hard to look at. It's a tad bit busy. Try moving the camera more upward so it's mainly focused on his face, or move the camera further away from him.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

The dark lighting doesn't look too good. I haven't really done any dark shots so I'm not sure on how you could improve. :S

This isn't actually a frame from the film itself, however I was just fiddling around with the exposure to get my set to look right. This is just a frame while I was adjusting the settings:

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

Okay, it seems flat.  Your figs on a diet or something?

It's a 16:9 shot but we're seeing it at 4:3.  Might want to fix that before you export it.

Hmm, that's strange, because I believe I captured it in widescreen, making the proportions correct but now it shows this :S
Anything else seem wrong with it?

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

I like it. Reminds me of the brickfilms from the "Golden Age".
