Wow, BG. That's intense. Can you explain to me how you did that shot? Is that background CGI?

I animated the bench and road in front of a greenscreen, and made the two buildings in the background CGI. Then I just composited it all into After Effects after rendering it out in Blender.

Can you give me some tips for greenscreening? When I key out the greenscreen, the edge between the lego and the greenscreen looks really crappy. How were you able to make the edge look perfect?

I love the style of that photo, it's really looks like one of those newspaper pictures of bigfoot or paranormal sightings. The grain was a great choice and filming it outside in a muddy place like that makes it look a lot better.

There's a great tutorial on screening on videocopilot.net (for Adobe After effects)

Ha ha!  Looks great Dan.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

This is from a music video I'm working on.

The whole crowd is moving in time with the music. After about a day, I'd got it down to three and a half minutes of set up between frames.

Face animation, yes. The plan was to get it out some time in October but I've still got a way to go.

Another frame from what I'm working on now... I'm starting to slip into the "doubting" phase of production. Not sure how this is going to turn out.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

It looks nice, but there are two things that make it not as great (to me, at least.) First, the arm sockets look really, really weird in this frame. And second, the bricks look way too soft, and not hard and plastic and reflective like they are in real life. Plus the face looks really small. But otherwise it's a nice frame.

The head is rather flat, other than that great!

@NXT: that shot is lovely, I like it.

@OldScratch: Thats great, love the lighting, you use the 9000? That's superb quality.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

NXT, that looks quite dandy. The only thing I would do is fiddle around with the lighting.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

Viva should be an internet sensation when it comes out!
