Fabulous. A seeing the first brick on screen with the white background I imagined it would be a Brickfilm like Fancypants' "The doorway", something I wouldn't rate too highly. However 5 seconds in my jaw was already beginning to drop open. The adjustments between models and the perfected animation really is quite incredible.
There is not a flicker nor set bump or any real technical issues whatsoever, however is this really Avant-Garde? Not really... I mean, there isn't a storyline, and while there doesn't have to be it does help. Now that being said there hasn't really been anything like this before either. In any case I wouldn't really count this as a worthy winner of the Avant-garde contest, but I would easily say you could win the MOfilm Cannes Festival contest, as this has every good aspect of a LEGO Commercial perfected.
So overall as an Avant-Garde entry - I would say no, however because of this film's immense brilliance I would give it a 91/100, which by my mind is an amazing score. Well done indeed, David.
