Topic: Heavy Test

So did this quick test, tried it with the crate but I wanted to get the feet down first.

I didn't really plan it out I just went frame by frame.

Re: Heavy Test

It looks pretty good.  Do you have a wide angle lens?  I have a Canon Xsi DSLR and the lenses I have are an 18-55mm and 55-200mm.  I'm thinking I should get a wide angle lens because it could come in handy for brickfilming.  Am I right?

Re: Heavy Test

That was OUTSTANDING!!! The only question is, was the box supposed to be moving?

Re: Heavy Test

wandering box. and the lens i got on is a 28-90 macro lens. essential.

Re: Heavy Test

It might look better with the box, but the feet seemed to kick too high to me. Looked a little like a Nazi march.

Re: Heavy Test

Just to let everyone else see. I added the crate to the test to give it a better feel.

not heavy - standard walk.

Re: Heavy Test

The Heavy Test looked a lot like a mummy-walk test. I liked it.

Re: Heavy Test

That was really silky-smooth. I kinda want to shoot at 24fps now. How did you stick down your sets/camera? And I think both of the tests are ok, with just one comment. When he's carrying something, if his legs do move like that, his back should be slightly more arched back. Loving it.

Do you think you can e-mail me that walk test, please?

Re: Heavy Test

I thought that was really good, but I want to see it with the box now!

I'm just wondering, I know that you use a Canon 7D, but how do you capture your frames? I'd expect that you use remote capture software, but does it have onion skinning?

Re: Heavy Test

dragon with a whole lotta onion skin.

Re: Heavy Test

Holy snap, how many frames is that walk cycle?

Re: Heavy Test

i try and do a ten frame walk cycle for leisure walking.

Re: Heavy Test

I don't even know where you'd get ten frames in haha.  Looks real nice though.

Re: Heavy Test

You must be using 24+ FPS to get it to look that good while still being ten frames.

Re: Heavy Test

thank you guys: frame idle, frame leg up, frame leg up little more, then 4 frames to the next stud, then one with the foot still back, another with the foot still back, then back to idle. but then for the next step, repeat the idle frame.

its really the arm movement that sells it all - which i still haven't perfected.
