Re: Spider-man Saves The Day - Wall to Wall Jump Entry

The animation was smooth, the story was great, I liked how you did the wall jump. The lighting was nice too, the only bad masking I saw was that:

Sue me if I´m to accurate.

Good job!

Re: Spider-man Saves The Day - Wall to Wall Jump Entry

Holy cow, if you get that camera, I could swear Lego would want you on the animation team. (if there is one, I know Pagano works there, but doesn't Spite your face, I don't know.) Good work!

Ancient engine this is a test, so he left the rig shadow, he would probably not have overlooked that in a movie. Why must we knit-pick everything now.

Re: Spider-man Saves The Day - Wall to Wall Jump Entry

That was awesome! I think that it looked perfect, except the bit at the end when he shoots his string it looks a bit too fast for how fast he was going up the wall (and jerky by your standards, but smooth for mine). Also, you should have ended your last sentence with a question mark. mini/wink  Don't flame, 'cause I'm just pointing that out.

Re: Spider-man Saves The Day - Wall to Wall Jump Entry

You continue to amaze me with your animation skills. It was so smooth, and I completely love the thing where you make the minifigures slightly 'roll' on the studs. Amazing.

Re: Spider-man Saves The Day - Wall to Wall Jump Entry

I have become very fund of your work, nice job.

Re: Spider-man Saves The Day - Wall to Wall Jump Entry

Not as good as the car throw test, but just SO sweet anyway! Personally I liked the start more then the jumping, it just looked so natural.

I'll be back animating soon! Exams and computer faults are keeping me away </3

@AncientEngine
Yeah, I tried to take out as much shadows as possible, but I let those few shadows stay just because (I didn't really have a great way of editing them out and I'm lazy) I didn't think they were very noticeable. But you proved me wrong! And there's more than that one rig shadow in that shot if you noticed, on the right.
@BG
More I look at it, he does shoot the web pretty fast, but in the movies he shoots them pretty fast too, so idk..

Thanks for the great responses, guys! mini/bigsmile

Re: Spider-man Saves The Day - Wall to Wall Jump Entry

Yeah, it looked like you couldn't really see much of spiderman at all when he shot his web, there was just a few frames with his body and arm in it, so in my opinion it didn't look as good as it could have on that part.

So you both have been receiving money from filmguy's work?  Wow filmguy, your work is paying for MM and Darkray's 4th grade education.

Good to see some animators are aware that gravity still exists (the slight downward pull as Spidey lands on the wall).

I think MM was being sarcastic to Darkray. mini/tongue

Re: Spider-man Saves The Day - Wall to Wall Jump Entry

Definitely the best of the entries I've seen so far. You can really "feel" his weight as grabs each wall. That subtle little dip in his position was an excellent touch, great physics.

On an unrelated note, though, the interlacing on the digital camera movements is a tad distracting.

Re: Spider-man Saves The Day - Wall to Wall Jump Entry

Yeah, I kept movements of Spider-man (from the Spider-man movies) in mind when I animated it, specifically when it was the CG Spider-man. I just mimicked it the best I could.

I no rite? It came out looking glitchy and I don't know why.

Thanks, man! I appreciate you commenting. mini/smile

Re: Spider-man Saves The Day - Wall to Wall Jump Entry

Actually I think you can fix the interlacing problem in VirtualDub, there's a deinterlacing filter that cleans up the interlacing. While I've never tried it before, it should work fine in solving that problem. mini/wink
