Re: The Photo Manipulation and Creation Thread
Can someone challenge me to make something with GIMP? I'm stumped on ideas.

Make a Monkey ![]()

You could also try some of Real Brick's suggestions:
a small land or contident in the interior or a convertible
a face on the hood of a car
a house ripped from the ground, hurtling in the air
a Biplane flying our of a television or computer
money bullets from a submachine gun
Yeah, I just had a good idea for making the monkey, so I'm gonna try doing that. But I may try one of Real Brick's challenges.
EDIT: How does this look?

I would say challenge completed if it was able to be any less pixely.

Well If he can make it less pixely but if he can't then the challenge is still completed.

Maybe he meant it like that?

Correct. I thought it looked cooler. But it's actually not pixely. Pixely would mean the image is bad quality and such, the monkey outline is just box-ey.
Technically that is pixely or my I.C.T teacher is wrong and if thats what you were planning to do then congratulations you completed my challenge ![]()

Here are more challenges.
create a cat in a fishbowl
create a non-smoking poster
create a gif. of a minifigure talking (silent)
create a tree growing money
create a train coming out the door of a porta-john (plastic outhouse)
create a zombie of your leaste favoite singer
make a clock made of motor vehicles stacked
make a 7 story house sit in a tree
I will now start Real Brick's last challenge.
I haven't used GIMP almost at all so I watched some tutorials at YT and made a picture.
Stock photo is not made by me but mib_tx2hr9 Scypax (whoever he is), he posted it on chat and I saved the picture.
But back to my picture. I masked the minifig and added sparks with spark tool.
What do you think. Keep in mind it's like one of my first (not sure which) pictures I did in GIMP.

Sorry if image is too big.
EDIT: Trying out my new waterbrushes.

EDIT 2:And I tried to make this cloud tutorial but I think it's kind of a first try don't you think?

The first picture seems light the little lights need to be only in the dark hallway, not expanding out past where the boy is standing. In the cloud picture, the clouds were just draw regularly I'm guessing. To get a better shape, do what UniLego did on the last page. Just make bunch of circles connected together, and then alpha selection.
here is my attempt

The atmosphere touches the shadow. It's not supposed to do that, if you fix the shadow mask a little, it'll get rid of the extra atmosphere.
If you are talking about the white glow over the shadow on the right side, I kinda like it there, as if the sun is behind the planet.
