One of my all time favorites is "Requiem For a Dream" by Clint Mansell. Even though it's really overused...

Re: Your favourite soundtrack!

My favorite soundtrack would have to be a 4 way tie between:
Titanic
2001:A Space Odyssey
Sunshine
AND 28 Days Later Theme (In the house in a heartbeat)

Re: Your favourite soundtrack!

Perhaps some of the most underrated soundtracks in this community:

Battlestar Galactica (composed by Bear McCreary)
Listen to Prelude to War

LOST (composed by Michael Giacchino)
Listen to the music in The Constant

Any Batman Movie (including the 1960 one)
Star Wars

Conan The Barbarian
Michael Jacksons 'This Is It' (IT COUNTS!!)
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

And I look forward to 'Iron Man 2' simply because the soundtrack is by AC/DC. Is that not awesome?

Re: Your favourite soundtrack!

I've come to the conclusion that Sherlock Holmes is the greatest soundtrack to come around in decades. It's filled with creativity and twists and turns, sad tunes and action bits and disturbing tunes and fun diddies and even sadder tunes, it's so ridiculously awesome. And Looking here it seems it's everyone's favorite. I was so pissed when it didn't win at the Oscars.

How did I forget the Rocky Horror Picture Show? I love the Time Warp...

Oh, I forgot 'Yor; The Hunter From The Future'. I would include 'Shaft', but I've never actually seen the movie - just heard the soundtrack.

It's the only soundtrack I own except 2001: Space Odyssey (which is just weird acid music)

Hey, don't knock Ligeti; he's actually really well-regarded as a classical composer. Listening to it in an airplane will blow your mind.

Here's a YT video I made a while ago that contains some of my favorite scores:

Favorite soundtrack? It's gotta be John Williams' Jurassic Park. The Back to the Future soundtrack by Alan Silvestri comes a close second.

Check out the movie Maximum Overdrive, directed by Stephen King. AC/DC did some original songs for that one; the whole soundtrack is AC/DC. in fact the album 'Who Made Who' is the official soundtrack for Maximum Overdrive.

Probably more awesome.

Everything by Ennio Morricone is awesome.

Re: Your favourite soundtrack!

I love the Clerks soundtrack. It really shows the music from the time and the music has a very independent feel about it, which suits the movie just fine considering it was made for $30,000.
