Re: LaserSaber Time Part 1

First comment.

That was very good. The speed of the lightsabers are a bit on the slow side, and the choreography was a bit simplistic. But it was still wonderfully done.

I've decided that I'm going to become immune to several select, non-lethal poisons, then put them in my snacks to discourage sneaky snack snatchers. -Littlebrick

Re: LaserSaber Time Part 1

Great! The only thing is that the effects looked kinda wierd, how did you make them?

Re: LaserSaber Time Part 1

Great animation, but I did see the laser part of the saber kept on moving in place. What editing did you use for the light sabers?
Anyways I LOVE lightsaber fights and this one is awesome:D

I'm fairly sure that T.G.-Tom made them in After Effects.

Re: LaserSaber Time Part 1

Yep I made them in After Effects. Using the preset from VideoCopilot (which is free btw).
I really like this movie. It's not Star Wars, it's just different.

Re: LaserSaber Time Part 1

Hmm, personally I find the VC Preset Lightsaber to be too round at the end. It made the lightsabers look a bit odd. What was with the lighting, though? I found it interesting (the lighting).

Animation was super as always. Camera angles were interesting and well placed, and the lighting was cool, but, I found had a little bit too much old time-y feeling to it..

Persist.

Re: LaserSaber Time Part 1

I thought the back drop spoiled it a little, you could see shadows at the sides. Other than that it was awesome.

Re: LaserSaber Time Part 1

Pretty good! For a first light saber movie mini/smile  The choreography was a bit simplistic, as BrickLord said. The animation is not better that The Force Unleashed of fancypants, but is smooth and cool mini/sunnies  Good job!

Re: LaserSaber Time Part 1

I really like it though the lightsaber is a little off sometimes

Re: LaserSaber Time Part 1

I liked the animation, but besides that it was plain, a bit slow, and I thought the lightsabers were quite horrible. Sorry, but I speak my mind, and I'm not trying to be rude.

Re: LaserSaber Time Part 1

As usual, the animation was incredibly done, but I was not a big fan of the washed-out kind of lighting; it did, however, make the lightsabers stand out quite a bit more. The set seemed a little bland, to me, a backdrop of a cityscape or something would have been nice.
I really enjoyed the quick camera angles, and changes throughout the film. It kept it intense and made the pacing seem faster.

All in all, I am looking forward to part two! Very nice job on this first one! mini/bigsmile

Whatever Simon Cowell (Or Kowell, whatever.)

Re: LaserSaber Time Part 1

Well, I enjoyed this. The animation was great as always, and the lightsabers looked pretty good in my opinion(though sometimes they wobbled around a bit). This was an animation challenge, so I won't go into set building that much, though it did look a bit bare. I think the lighting was a bit off an issue, sometimes it looked effective, and sometimes a bit out of place. I think you should of rather gone for a sunset look, or a dark eerie night look. Though that's just my opinion.

Re: LaserSaber Time Part 1

It was amazing how you animated it filmyguy.  The animation and camera pans were virtually flawless.  In fact, the only thing that we did'n't like about it was the lighting and the lightsabers.  The lightsabers looked a bit too rounded and fake, while the lighting really didn't look that great, and only seemed to take away from the quality.  Other than that though, it was awesome!  We can't wait for part 2!

Re: LaserSaber Time Part 1

I think you'll have more freedom if you animate on a bigger rooftop

Re: LaserSaber Time Part 1

Well, the title, and the camera settings were uglier than Lady Gaga, but the actual fighting was good.

Re: LaserSaber Time Part 1

I recognize that saber's preset foul stench a million miles away. If you want, you can send raw footage to me so that I can do better effects, because I didn't even sit to the end. Nice animation, from what I saw.
