It's a bounce and friction factor and how Carrara simulates physics.  I set the objects' physical properties to Plastic, which has low friction and high bounce, resulting in the jiggling even after the point force was turned off.  Not sure why.

Hmmm, maybe if you made it manually bounced it or animated it, or just set it to a higher friction and lower bounce material.
