I havent been able to connect all day.
My stupid parents blocked the chat, it's really gay. 
Yeah, there's a problem with the server, and the whole IRC network is down. I posted about this in the forums that the network belongs to, and one of the owners (?) of the server replied this:
It is being looked at, but with it being a private colocated machine, the ISP staff won't do very much to it. Due to the fact no one lives nearby anymore, it is possible that it will take a day or two to get someone working on it if the issue is beyond what the ISP staff are willing and able to handle.
I will post an update when more information is available.
So hopefully - and most likely - the network will be back up within a day or two.

For the time being I've replaced the link with a temporary, bravenet-based chat.
how exactly do you enter messages?
By clicking on and typing into the (gray) text bar at the bottom and pressing enter.
I'm doing that and it still isn't working 
Maybe it's an issue with your java installation, the whole thing is a java applet after all.
FYI, don't close the login window after you open the chat. It'll close the chat as well.
I'm pretty sure it's a Mac Java issue. I just did a full update, I can't open the applet.
Weird, you'd think they would have made it more compatible. If your Java is enabled and it's not working, I'm not sure what else the issue could be, though.
Oh, well, this is embarrassing. Java wasn't enabled.
The MsgPlus network is back. Though, apparently they now used a new server for it as the old one isn't fixed yet. They're using a services backup from 2007 which means that all of you guys who registered their nicks will have to register them again (or if any of you registered any channels). Though, if/when the old server gets fixed, there's a possibility that the recent data from there (nickname registrations and all that) will be restored, but no one seems to know for sure yet. D:
Edit: Apparently now the services data has been restored to how it was on Tuesday. So, everything is back to normal.
