Topic: TRON Minifigure Test

Clicky

I attempted to take a minifig with a plain body and add an image to the torso digitally. It would have worked if I hadn't chosen to add the TRON gow, too. I'll have another go, soon.

All I can say is: interesting...

Re: TRON Minifigure Test

Yeah. I'm definetely going to keep trying until I get this down-pat.

Re: TRON Minifigure Test

i think it works, as long as you don't get him to do anything complicated

I know precisely as much as i've learnt - m2c

Re: TRON Minifigure Test

The motion tracking didn't really work right, as the digital torso kind of moved around on the minifig.

Yeah...I wish VisionLab had a motion tracking tool. Still, I have very limited access to After Effects now, so I may try it again with that.

Re: TRON Minifigure Test

If it's CS4 or later, check the install folder for a program called Mocha for AE. The planar tracking it does absolutely blows the doors off of AE's point tracker. The fact that it comes packaged with some newer versions of After Effects seems to be one of the internet's best kept secrets... I had it on my computer for months before a VideoCopilot tutorial clued me in to its presence.

Re: TRON Minifigure Test

I think it would look better if you could use the AE 'Glow' effect on the markings to make them stand out more.
And, like Noodle said, the motion tracking needs a little work.
