Topic: Happy Septemberfest Everyone!

Please join me in reminiscing about the days of yore.

I suggest watching some of these films:

Rise of the Empire (Jay Silver)
Out of Time (Buxton)
Zero Gravity Rebellion (jamesfm)
Fart Competition 1-4 (weirdears)
The Clocktower Trilogy (Bluntman / Blunty 3000)
The Citizen of the Year (Watson)

Those are all from memory so I may have messed up a title or name or two.  Add your own classics to the list!

Re: Happy Septemberfest Everyone!

RevMen! How you been?

All of those are very good films

Good to see you RevMen.  I hope that people will remember the true meaning of Septemberfest -- the celebration of TCOTY.  The Septemberfest Animation Contest is really only intended to commemorate the holiday itself.

Haha, the (parrots) thing is hilarious.

Re: Happy Septemberfest Everyone!

coty is stupid i don't get the big deal its just an ok movie not even that great

Just wanted to make sure we got that over with early on.

I was quite partial to the Gauntlet in the days of yore, although perhaps it goes without saying that all of Jay's old films were classics.

+1

Might we not forget the Battle of New Orleans by RevMen and The Letter by JamesFM.

Great to see you again RevMen. Happy Septemberfest to all!

Btw Rev, any chance of getting Watson to activate my new TCOA account? I forgot the password to my old TCOA account; which I haven't used since 2007. mini/tongue

Re: Happy Septemberfest Everyone!

'Cause I'm not a big fan of Grace.  Then again I do think Rise of the Empire is mostly in the "classic" status for being better technically and in the visual effects sense than anything preceding it.  But it is well made; Grace has major storytelling deficiencies.

Re: Happy Septemberfest Everyone!

I used to watch The Gauntlet all the time. I found it (and many other classics) through the category system on the Brickfilms.com directory, which sadly, we do not have on BiM.

Re: Happy Septemberfest Everyone!

Grace is only like 3 years old too, not a classic... yet.

Re: Happy Septemberfest Everyone!

When Jay released Rise of the Empire people were like, "whoa, you can do that?"

Re: Happy Septemberfest Everyone!

Yeah, it's an epic film

Re: Happy Septemberfest Everyone!

I remember all of those films from when they all came out... man it's been a long time.. the brickfilms.com podcast was SOOOO awesome.

Re: Happy Septemberfest Everyone!

Join in the celebration by joining in with the commemoration cagematch

Re: Happy Septemberfest Everyone!

Hey Rev, how's it hangin' ?

Re: Happy Septemberfest Everyone!

The Gauntlet and Rise of the Empire are two of the films that really made me WANT to do brickfilms and stop-motion in general.

Re: Happy Septemberfest Everyone!

I second the mention of such classics as "The Battle of New Orleans" and "the Letter". "The Gauntlet" is, of course, a favorite, and, if I can find it, I'm sure I'll check out Holgor's "About A Door" as well. There's so much more that I'm forgetting.

The true point of it all is, happy Septemberfest.

Re: Happy Septemberfest Everyone!

Happy September to you too
I'll recommend Leftfield Studios' "Star Wars: The Great Disturbance": http://www.leftfieldstudios.com/TheGreatDisturbance.htm of one hour mini/sunnies
