Re: Septemberfest 2010 Contest [CLOSED]
Yep, probably best to wait until the theme is released and see what you can do with it.

We are a friendly filmmaking community devoted to the art of stop-motion animation using LEGO® and similar construction toys. Here, you can share your work, join our community of other brickfilmers, and participate in periodic animation contests!
A place to discuss, share, and create stop motion films.

If the theme is any good, I'll enter.
And September is the best month of the year.
EDIT: Is stock music allowed?

When shall the theme be released?
I'm starting to think that its an age-old BiM tradition to complain about profanity-censorship on every contest.
We agree completely with Smeagol in the fact that there should be no profanity, censorship, or anything inappropriate. All films should be made to be appropriate for ALL ages.
It actually makes sense as we're making films with children's toys...

Good point JK.
Although a wide range of adults play with LEGO too.
It can't be that hard to make a "clean" film.
Well, i don't see the point of "dirty films" i can understand having violence, but profanity and sexual references aren't needed in brickfilms, or in actual films, to an extent. I also don't see the point of complaining about it, the rules are what they are, and they aren't going to change, cause they are there for a reason, just make it clean, its not that hard.
I agree with you I have no idea how to go audio and if i tried it would probably turn out bad.
I am excite.
However, I've got to say that I'm not happy with the decision to separate audio and visual presentation into two judging categories. I really don't see the point of it, and it may badly affect the scores of those who have inferior audio recording equipment; just getting a proper brickfilming camera is expensive enough for most people. Anyway, what if someone wanted to do a silent film?
I can't wait to find out what the theme is!
i had a question about the contest? why do they have to seperate audio from video?
Yep, probably best to wait until the theme is released and see what you can do with it.
You don't, they don't, whatever you meant to say is not happening, audio, video, together, done deal. Ta-da.
Oh, and Welcome to Bim, I hope you enjoy your stay, If you want I can upgrade you to the Beachside suite, with a panoramic view of the ocean, just kidden (and not the user either) i' hope you like the site though, and learn our basic rules quickly, I recommend you read through this. It will help you 'fit in' I guess you could say.
This seems like it could be cool. Waiting for the theme though. Also want to squeeze in all i can of what's left of sun-time this late summer, so that might be an issue. Also I never entered a contest before, so think maybe it's about time.
