Re: The Movie Poster Thread [Large Images]

Ooh, I really like that. The 13 up at the top is a great addition. mini/smile

Re: The Movie Poster Thread [Large Images]

I really like it! Great composition and everything. It does look a little weird how you can see the outlines of the photos behind the three characters though. You could try fading them or something.

Re: The Movie Poster Thread [Large Images]

Other than the hard line between the top background picture and the middle one, that is really nice, one of my favorite posters I've seen on here for a long long time. mini/smile

Re: The Movie Poster Thread [Large Images]

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I've thought the outlines of the background images looked kinda bad for a while, but I wasn't sure how to get around them. I'll work on the poster some more and hopefully come up with some way of fixing the background image problem.

Re: The Movie Poster Thread [Large Images]

Okay, I've made some changes and here's what I have now:

Anything else you guys think I should fix?

Re: The Movie Poster Thread [Large Images]

Yep, now it looks even better. I really like it.

Re: The Movie Poster Thread [Large Images]

Agreed.

Re: The Movie Poster Thread [Large Images]

Yeah, it was easy to spot the differences between the old and new (and better) versions of the poster. Now, it looks much better, twickabrick.

It looks great now, I love it. mini/smile

Re: The Movie Poster Thread [Large Images]

Looks very nice.  I really like the "13" at the top.  The only thing I might add is that the picture itself looks a bit grainy, but it actually gives the poster a "retro brickfilm" look.

Re: The Movie Poster Thread [Large Images]

Thanks for the comments, guys! The graininess (or at least some of it) is intentional, added in the GIMP. I'll probably make a few more changes, but I think the poster is almost done.

Re: The Movie Poster Thread [Large Images]

I agree with FlyingMinifig, that I don't really like the graininess. I suppose it does give an interesting atmosphere. However, the one other thing I don't like is that the minifig in the foreground is not totally in focus. I don't know if you can/could've changed that any, but it detracts from the overall poater a lit, and brings out the graininess to the viewer's eye. Apart from those two things, I love the poster. Oh, just thought of another. Have you considered using a different type of font, as the current white is too bright imo. I know it makes the words stick out, but it also seems a little overexcessive. mini/confused

Re: The Movie Poster Thread [Large Images]

I never said I disliked it, I'm actually a bit undecided on whether I like it or not.  Generally, I dislike blurry/grainy images, but here it gives the poster an old-school brickfilm feel, which I quite like.  Though of course it depends on what effect Twickabrick is going for.

Re: The Movie Poster Thread [Large Images]

I like it, the only thing is that the front minifigure is out of focus.

Re: The Movie Poster Thread [Large Images]

All right. I've made some slight changes, and I think it's about finished. Here's what I've got:

Please tell me if there's anything I should fix before I call it quits.

That is a problem, but I'm pretty sure I used the best still from the actual film, and I'd prefer only to use stills from the actual film in this poster.

Re: The Movie Poster Thread [Large Images]

What changes have you made? It still looks the same as the last time you posted it, and it does look good.

Have you seen a big-chinned boy?

Re: The Movie Poster Thread [Large Images]

The most noticeable (if viewed on a dark background, at least) change I made is added a white border around the poster. All the other changes are very slight and have to do with the shadowy areas.

Re: The Movie Poster Thread [Large Images]

That's a very professional looking poster, twickabrick. Very nice job of the overlaying layers, and it gives a nice dark vibe to it.

Looking forward to the film.

Re: The Movie Poster Thread [Large Images]

Wow, Twickabrick, I know this isn't the release section but that was a great film. You paced it well and actually made me jump (not full screen playback) when

the dinosaur stuck its head into the elevator door.

Anyway, that is a good poster.
