Definately not. Not only because I have school then, but I then have exams.
Is there a theme to this contest? Or do we just animate a film about whatever we want?
It'd probably have a theme of some sort. No real contest details yet, remember I did note that this may fall apart before it happens, depending on prizes and such.
That said, I'm open at this point to the possibility of dropping BRAWL for this year, given that conceivably less than 50% of voters could participate. Would people prefer a contest that is, say, the entire month of September?

It's looking likely that we'll end up with something later rather than sooner. I don't know that 8-15 is feasible anyway because I have yet to get prize details worked out.

If one of those times were chosen, end of May or June would work best with my schedule. I'm wonder if Bim 2011/2012 would conflict with it though. People would probably find it hard to enter since they'll probably be starting to film or continuing to film their entries for the bigger contest. I think having a small contest is better in August. It's sort of the "before school starts" contest

I think that it is short notice (more for you than any of us) to pull together a contest all of a sudden. Truthfully, I'm fine with skipping BRAWL this year knowing that it will be more planned and ready for next year. Having a contest lasting a month would be nice. A month seems like a long enough time for me to think up an idea and film it (even though I'm not that great at Thacs and really short contests, I like entering them). I would probably be able to whip something up for a month long contest in September even with classes.
Dropping BRAWL completely this year might just be the best way to go. After all, it is already too late in the year for most of us to enter before school starts. If you DO end up having it, all of us in school will either not be able to enter or just have very rushed entries.

It's a little late for that I think.
Let's consider the matter of BRAWL closed, then; I wasn't expecting it to be this split. I'm still in talks with a sponsor, however, so perhaps I can get a contest going for next month.

How about October? It gets darker earlier then (well in this area of the world), and i don't have a fancy basement like you American fellers, so i have to film at night. Also there is usually a week long holiday in October for the UK lads, which will give them more time. But i really don't mind when it is, still sounds better than BRAWL anyhow.

Yeah, September or October would be a good month, hoping I don't get too much homework. The one date up there which I could do is losing, badly. Also, if it's a month long, people will have plenty of time.
So yeah, I vote for us dropping it this year, and doing something else instead.
I voted for August 8 to 15, the second date would be okay also, but schools starts at th 23th and the rest is pretty self-explainatory.
I fully support a month-long contest.
Most people seem to be fine with 21-28 ?
Anyway, if that's not gonna happen, a month-long contest would be cool.
I actually read that school in America doesn't officially start until after labor day, which is in September. I could be wrong though, 'cuz I don't live in America. As for me, I don't start High School until September the 8th, so I would prefer to have BRAWL 21-28th instead of any other date. But please don't drop the contest entirely. It may break my heart! (Along with NXTManiac's)

But anyway i was thinking, couldn't we have a competition from say the 15th of August to the 12th September. That would be 4 weeks. And i think the Americans would get some of their holiday to work on it. As would most people actually. Also no one would be likely to complain that they can't enter.
Or you could start it on the 8th and end it on the 5th.
I dunno, but it seems a good idea to me.

Actually, if we did something other than BRAWL I'd be happier than a happy person.

I'd be in favor of a month-long contest; not picky about the timing at all. Might this contest be in the vein of THAC or BRAWL in that it would have some sort of mod element?
