All we do is sit around and brickfilm... YEAH RIGHT!  What does everyone else do, what are your plans for the future, what is your life beyond brickfilming?

Re: The life beyond brickfilming

We are 3 people. We love sports.  We plan to pursue careers in marine biology, civil engineering, and cinematography, or animating.  Perhaps cgi, now there's an idea.

What's a life?

Re: The life beyond brickfilming

I plan to pursue computer engineering, programming, and such tech related stuff. Mind you I am an avid sports person myself (basketball for 3 years and much success and soccer for 6 years though) So I am pretty well rounded. I might look into filmmaking, but I will see how life goes...

Re: The life beyond brickfilming

I'd like to get into something artsy fartsy. Video editing, logo design, etc. Computer programming and designing would be a huge dream job. Working on a GTA game at Rockstar would be so sick. I'd also like to get into radio or TV. So many interests!! I could also win the Brier a couple times over since I'm pretty good at curling; you're looking at the school's MVP right here, boi! I could also do stand up if I really tried.

Currently, I draw furry art, kind of brickfilm a little bit, and collect Apple Macintoshes. I also am on the internet waay more than a regular person is. I play a little piano, so far I only know how to play Gary Numan's 'Cars.' At school I am the funny guy.

cinematography.

Re: The life beyond brickfilming

Remember, you can have a life and still like Legos, even as an adult!  You are a well-rounded person when you have a job AND outside interests.  I know someone who is married and has a job and builds extreme Lego models as one of her hobbies (and she doesn't even have kids!).  Legos (and esp. brickfilming) are awesome! mini/bigsmile

Re: The life beyond brickfilming

Besides brickfilming, I study animation at University, I hope to get whatever out of my degree that I can.... I also love football (GO ENGLAND) and I play regularly.

I also like to socialize as some of you may know and this does involve some heavy drinking of alcoholic beverages, I enjoy it, its only a once a week thing, its fun and yeah I do it because im a student AND I CAN.

And I have a beautiful girlfriend ^_^

Re: The life beyond brickfilming

I'm in film school and I hope to work in the TV/Film industry later. I would still be brickfilming, but as a hobby not really as a professional.

Re: The life beyond brickfilming

This is a good thread. 5 respect points to the creator.

So apart from brickfilming, on the computer I read a lot of webcomics and visit a lot of websites, including but not limited to Dr McNinja, Dinosaur Comics, Questionable Content, CTRL-ALT-DEL, White Ninja Comics, XKCD, Cyanide & Happiness in the web comic category, and Apollohoax.net, Bautforum.com, Pure Pwnage, Cracked.com, CollegeHumor and Failblog. Other things I do on this box is web coding, playing games and IMing. But mostly Minesweeper.

Outside in the real world, I am more or less the leader of a band we named Divine Intervention. I am also a university student (though I failed miserably this year), and I live on my own. Things I like to do are play poker, play guitar or keyboard, hang out with friends and be cool.

Re: The life beyond brickfilming

My dream job would be to go into some computer science/engineering related degree. I might also join my brother and get a degree in visual communications.

Re: The life beyond brickfilming

I am a Senior in high school right now, planning to go to The Nation Film and Television School in Bristol, UK, after I take a year off after high school. And lastly I hope to live in either LA or somewhere in England, depending on available positions in the film industry.

As for things I do besides brickfilming/regular stop-motion, I play bass guitar, backing vocals, and the tech in a punk rock band. I also work at a local TV station as a camera operator, and hope to get into cinematography or directing as a career. I also do 3D animation in Blender and will most likely use that as a fall back. And if none of those four things work out then I would probably be a computer programmer, which I do a little bit of right now.

Re: The life beyond brickfilming

I'm a cartoonist and draw things for my friends. Instead of merely writing a message and my name in people's yearbooks this year, I'd draw a cartoon character they'd seem to be familiar with.

I've written lots of screenplays for live-action films that I plan to make a reality one day. Currently writing two feature length films to direct some day. Besides movie-related things, I'm also greatly into writing short stories, and I'm currently writing a novel.

Lots of choices to start my career with. mini/bigsmile

Re: The life beyond brickfilming

Well (as you know, there are three of us) I am a freshman in high school, and I plan to be taking some CGI & Physics classes (after Biology mini/tongue ), I am also a sports fanatic, particularly in Football (American), Hockey, & Basketball. I plan to go to Penn State University, or LA Tech University. In college, I will most likely major in Computer Science & Civil Engineering, & I will shoot for a Masters Degree. When I graduate, I would like to work either as a Civil Engineer, or as a Producer for a movie company (either PIXAR, Dream Works, or most likely my own company). I have also been in loads of plays & musicals, orchestras, & I have played basketball for two years. My siblings & I have also written scripts & storyboards for movies we plan to release in the 20's & early 30's.

Re: The life beyond brickfilming

Oh, you mean outside of my studio! Well, I like to program applications that do very little, play the Wii, and go out for long walks. Robotics is a huge part of my life, as well. Not NXT, but real robots. My friends and I are designing a battle bot named TETHER. I've already ordered some servos, and I'm gonna go to a place that sells alluminium to check prices.

Other than that, I enjoy theatre, and hope to someday become a cardiologist.

Re: The life beyond brickfilming

Well, after I finish school, I want to study visual comunication (cinematography, photography, etc...). I've been doing circus for five years but now I stopped, I hope to continue next year. Also I love writing short stories.
