Several shot's in "Rêve" would be too difficult to film in live action, and are instead going to be a mix of live action and 3d elements. Most of it however will be stop-motion. mini/wink

What my esteemed bro means by "too difficult" is.................bullet-time.

Yes folks, bullet-time like the brickfilming community has never seen (we hope:lol:)

Teeth marks, years of child abuse (a child abusing the plastic), not enough of this particular color, you name it...oh, you're talking about  Bluescreener's work.  Nevermind.

Re: The CGI Thread

As stated on your vid's comment, try using an actual 3D animation program, not LDD.

Re: The CGI Thread

I made a flag

Re: The CGI Thread

I cannot type values such as names of python scripts and I can never see that red cursor I see in tutorials for blender. On the blender forums someone said to use shift or ctrl but that didn't do anything. Anyone know why?

Re: The CGI Thread

How do you model, rig, and animate a flag like that?

Re: The CGI Thread

Lots of patience. Or you could just use the cloth simulator, which is infinitely easier.

What is a cloth simulator?

Re: The CGI Thread

I don't know if you could do it in 2.5. The Flag is just a plane, and yes, it's just a cloth simulator

Why wouldn't you be able to? Heck, 2.5 has even more simulators. Anyway, cloth simulation is necessary to a lot of people, so why would they remove it?

Re: The CGI Thread

The Blender Foundation would not remove it. They built 2.5 around the Open Movie Project titled 'Sintel', and in doing so that actually improved the cloth simulator, among other things.

Well, it dosn't look like the real LEGO mini-fig but it's pretty good! Sorry, I have no advice but to make it look proper because I don't use this kind of stuff. I've tried but I don't get it. mini/tongue

Re: The CGI Thread

Does anyone here have any satisfactory advice for how to actually apply B bones to make them deform the mesh? I know how to weight paint and use the armature modifier, but I know next to nothing about B bones, aside from what they do. Thanks.

And yes, I did try Google before I posted this, but I came up (mostly) blank. I found nothing that could help me on my question.

Re: The CGI Thread

BG, that fig is too wide. Look at a regular minifigure; observe the sizes of different parts. For example, look at the angle of the arm; look at how it compares in size to his leg.
I've kinda got a question that I probably should have asked a long time ago. Ok, so if I made a background to put in one of my films, how do I enter it in. I realize you use a greenscreen, but lets say im doing a shot at an angle; not just straight on. So the greenscreen is at an angle, and I want to set my background at this angle. I obvioulsy cant make a background like in this because I would have to make the greenscreen straight on like it is in that video. Im talking about making the greenscreen at an angle such as the greenscreen angle here:
http://www.majhost.com/gallery/ReidYoderFilms/GIMPpictures/durron.png

So I guess I'm trying to ask how to make a background so that it fits and angled greenscreen. If the answer is to just make the background with the camera in the same perspective as the greenscreen is, I don't see how that would be possible; you would have to get the angles EXACT, and that would be extremely hard.
I hope that all made sence. Please help me.

EDIT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Abp9mhH9fJM Please give me some feedback mini/yes

mini/confused  Where did you get that from? That's not even mine. It's someone else's.

And I've been wondering that same question. Is there an easier way then taking an hour to line it up perfectly, or is that the only way to do it?

Re: The CGI Thread

Generally if you were to do that, it would be your own picture or animation, so you would angle it the same as you LEGO set when you take the picture of render it.
