Re: Café Corner
I remember when news analyst Michelle Malkin was asked what would she do if she had a 3D printer? Her answer: "Make unlimited Legos [sic]!"

I recently found this brickfilm

It is really awesome...
Ah yes, Grace. I've often cited this as my favourite brickfilm of all time, and with good reason. I think it deserves a lot more recognition.
Wow! That was amazing. Probably the best brickfilm I've seen for a very long time. Great voice acting and music. The cinematography and lighting on that last shot was outstanding!
Grace has always been a great classic film to me, I remember first watching this years ago. It never seems to get old for me, the cinematography as AnimationIsaac has mentioned is beautiful. The music is really soothing to the scenes, and the story was just great. The animation was smooth and very well done.
Sadly as Jampot mentioned it really doesn't get the recognition it truly deserves.

Lately we have seen LEGO Star Wars trailer remakes.
The Darth Vader helmet, in the trailer is burnt. Some people are burning their LEGO Darth Vader helmets.
I would like to advise that burning plastic is against the law of certain countiries. It creates air pollution by releasing toxic chemicals, and breathing in on them is dangerous.
Although a tiny bit of LEGO wouldn't do much harm, I still do not recommend the act.
It is possible that you can earn pay off your fine from the profits of making the trailer, but YouTube could give you a strike or remove the video.

Exciting new folks. So, recently I've received 2-3 rejection letters from film festivals. Well, late last night (right before recording a podcast; the hype was real!), I received an email from the Rocketjump Film School saying that my film Monochrome Christmas had been accepted to screen today in LA at the LA Public Library! Now this isn't as "big" as a festival might be, but it's so nice to have something good happen when lately all I get is rejection letters. Super ecstatic! If anyone lives in LA, you can attend for free!

Plus a burnt LEGO helmet would hardly achieve the effect like the prop for the film.
Don't ruin your LEGO kids! Not only is it not purist, but it's also illegal.

LOTT DODD: Isn't that... illegal?
EMPEROR PALPATINE: I will make it legal!
Is there any way I can make my uploads to Youtube the same Quality as on my Computer? It always slightly lowers the Quality.
Went mudding today, and got stuck. Took an hour to get out, but hey! My truck is covered in mud!
It was a good day.

Youtube doesn't compress videos very much. If you are seeing lower quality videos on YouTube, you need to turn up the quality as far as it will go, because it might be lowering it to be able to stream to you better.
I also recommend posting on an additional channel at Vimeo (or making it your default). Their audio/video compression leaves a better-quality result. You can notice the difference.

Not to start a Vimeo vs YouTube war (because I know you hate Google), but I don't recommend Vimeo. It takes forever to upload because of their "waiting in line to process" cue, and it doesn't support 1080p videos unless you upgrade and pay for their service. It also only allows one 720p upload per week, which can get annoying to a lot of people. Vimeo is also slow, doesn't have an optimized player, and is not mainstream, so it's not like anyone will every see the videos you post unless they are actually looking for them.
I have my doubts about audio/video compression on Vimeo being better. Everyone says that YouTube ruins videos due to it's compression, but I have never had that happen, in all the years I have been on YouTube, the compression has been minimal.

I agree with rio
I also don't have a problem with the way stuff looks on YouTube, as long as you upload in the right format. YouTube used to have better support for .wmv, which I used to use instead of .mp4, but then they changed something and now all my .wmv videos have crazy artifacts and frame tearing and stuff; they look terrible. It's really annoying since one of the films I uploaded as .wmv I'm actually pretty proud of and it did fairly well as far as views go, so I don't want to re-upload it. But as long as you use the right initial compression, YouTube looks fine to everyone except the few people who actually know video really well. That may be a majority here, but in the real world, very few people can tell the difference. e. g. my Dad doesn't even understand the difference between the video quality of a DVD and a Blu-Ray, let alone the compression on YouTube.
Plus on Vimeo, I've found there's very little sense of community. The only people I talk to there are people I know in real life who live a great distance away, and even that's like two people.
overall, for it being free, YouTube just beats Vimeo (unless you have a paid Vimeo account).
Every once in a while a get a link to vimeo, and sometimes I can play the video, but I've seen it mess up a lot. And sometimes videos become unwatchable. Don't know what's up with that, but I don't like it. Seems buggy.
Every video production company I have worked at use Vimeo as a way to send videos to clients for reviews etc. I've found it to be quite nice for that use, especially with a pro account. It just looks more professional and slick.
It is however bad for engagement and community, but then again, I don't go there for that.
They each have their pros and cons, and I happily use both. My personal stuff goes to my youtube, and any freelance work goes to Vimeo, with a password on it.
