Okay, I'll probably come here often then.

I do not brickfilm anymore, but you can see my live action stuff here.

Wait, wait, Walter, first, I gotta know something...

...does Jessica ever find a hobby she's good at? I must know!

Sad to see you stepping away from brickfilming, but hey, That's the Way it Goes! is a helluva film to go out on. Good luck to you and all of your future endeavors. Surely you must at least be here to represent your film at the Bricks in Motion Awards Chat!

Lego Movie spinoff film in the works.

Re: Café Corner

There will be LEGO movies everywhere.  I hope every spinoff turns out well.  I would really like the see this franchise be continuously successful.

Re: Café Corner

Interesting.  I suppose it's inevitable to some degree, but with the way The LEGO Movie ended I can't help bu think that any sequel will be unable to live up to the original at best, and be a massive flop at worst.

That being said, I was highly sceptical of The LEGO Movie when I first heard about it, and we all know how it actually turned out....

Re: Café Corner

I wouldn't call it a spinoff, more of a companion. LEGO movies (theatrical, not brickfilms) are now a thing LEGO is doing. There's Ninjago (coming next year), Batman (coming the year after mini/rolleyes ), and The LEGO Movie 2 (coming 2018), I wouldn't call any of them "spinoffs". The LEGO Movie was a "spinoff" of LEGO toys, and so is each movie. They're not spinning off the original LEGO Movie. (Maybe I'm just over-examining that phrase though)

LEGO is getting so wrapped up in the movie business that it worries me. The LEGO Movie was a huge success, but who knows if any of the other LEGO movies will be successful? They are planning film after film after film... I fear that LEGO is being cheapened (brand image-wise) but the films, because a lot of people view the films as 2 hour commercials.

That sounds hypocritical of me to say that, I know, because I am a brickfilmer, but it's really not. I'm referring to the Hollywood LEGO movies, not our basement videos that don't get much attention. mini/tongue

Re: Café Corner

Hey, guys, I'm trying to run an older video game on my computer.  The game itself work just nicely, however, it has an old aspect ratio and it's stretching itself to fit my screen (There is no option for a modern resolution).
Does anyone know how one might rectify this?  It would be really nice to play with pillar-boxing instead, or maybe in a window, but I can't get it to work in windowed mode.

Re: Café Corner

What game are you trying to play? A specific title would be helpful.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Getting all that old Harry Potter LEGO made me want to play it again).
I've had this problem with a lot of other games as well, though.  I was wondering if there was some easy solution for most of them.

Currently, I'm able to play Morrowind without stretching, however, it has the option to be windowed, which let's it stay it its own aspect ratio.

Re: Café Corner

Frozen 2
(I hope this is a joke.)

On a side note....whoever wrote the above news story did a total research/journalism fail.
They forgot to mention "The Rescuers Down Under" as an official Disney sequel.

You might be able to try going to the EXE, right clicking and going to Properties, to the Compatibility Tab, and checking the box that says "Run in 640x480 resolution". That may downscale the game a bit (it depends on the native resoloution of the game), but it's worth a try.

Re: Café Corner

Alright, I've tried it out, but, sadly, it doesn't work.  It looks just the same as before.  I also made sure that the settings of the game itself were set to 640x480, but it was still warped, unfortunately.  But thanks for the try!

In the words of Doctor Professor's assistant, "know dat feel bro".

I tried Wine-wrapping (or whatever it's called) a copy of LEGO Racers to get it to run on Mac with horrible results. Such a shame that many of these old games are now lost to me, I would dearly love to play them again.

Re: Café Corner

Jampot, most of the old LEGO Games can be run still, it may just take a little work nowadays. Rock Raiders United is a great place to go for support on those old games, they are geeks about that type of thing. I did a search on their site for a solution, and found this: http://www.rockraidersunited.com/topic/ … p/?p=95766

Not sure if it'll be any help to you, but if you want to, you can always make an account there and ask them, they're great at helping people with the old LEGO games.

Re: Café Corner

Rio, the Sorcerer's Stone wasn't a LEGO game... I'm not sure if I know how to fix it. I bought the game a few years back, played it once, and haven't touched it since. I just kinda lived with the stretchy.

Re: Café Corner

I am having some trouble with an old LEGO Harry Potter game as well, though.

I tried to get LEGO Creator Harry Potter to run, but I can't seem to get a new game to load up.  Although I can watch the opening cinematic and see the main menu.

Re: Café Corner

@Volt, I know that The Sorcerer's Stone isn't a LEGO game, but the solution I recommended to Squid is not LEGO game exclusive. The LEGO game site I linked was a reply to Jampot about LEGO Racers.

Unfortunately, I know nothing about how to run the LEGO Creator games (because I don't own any of them).

Did you want to play it for "research" purposes?

By the way, what was the music you used in "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Brick"?  It sounds familiar but I can't place it.
