Isn't that something Repelling Spider was working on? Is that why he hasn't been around the forums in awhile?

I think Repelling Spider kinda stopped with the stop-motion thing, other than for Bound.

Awsome! If Smeagol thinks bound is epic, it has to be! can't wait to see it!

That's a long time to be color grading. mini/eek

Re: Café Corner

I don't think Repelling Spider is associated with Bound.

Also, keep in mind Smeagol is probably using the classical definition of epic.

Re: Café Corner

Actually Jackson Dame, aka Repelling Spider, did do some work on Bound.

C'mon, we all know he left cause he's a grade A buster.

It's incredible, y'all. And I'm not talking about my color grading*. There are no words for the scope of this film.

*Not that my color grading wasn't stellar.

S-six years in the making? Sounds more like a Chinese torture technique than a brickfilm.

I don't make Brickfilms. I trade virtual hats.

Re: Café Corner

Not to stray off-topic, but Repelling Spider left because of several factors:
1. School was taking a lot of his time.
2. He was (And still is) doing a lot of blogging and reading. (And blogging about his reading)
3. He's engaged.

He seemed to come quick, make quite an impact, then take off just as swiftly.
Life just seemed to suck him away, I'm not sure he even said goodbye. mini/sad

But in other news, Bound is going to be incredible.
I can't wait to see it, though it may be a bit harder since I never did support it on Kickstarter.

Can confirm I was using the classical, literal definition of epic.

With that crucial clarification, I'm leaving for three weeks to film the BiM documentary in Europe.

Later y'all.

Good luck, Sméagol!

Re: Café Corner

I have a question. I didn't think it deserved its own topic, so I am posting it here.
Anyhoo, I am still not sure what to have my avatar be. I currently have the "Octan" logo, which I like, but I'm not sure if I want to keep it. So, what kinds of things do I or my username make you think of and/or do you think would make a good avatar for me.

Re: Café Corner

Your username is definitely unique, Rivvm m. When I think of it, I think of rivers and motors. Though, you should pick an avatar that represents you. Like your SigFig or something that you like. I don't recommend making it an internet meme or celebrity or picture of a TV show or something, because when you keep changing your avatar because one gets old, it is quite annoying to have to re-learn the avatar to the name (because really, who looks at usernames? mini/tongue )

Re: Café Corner

I change my avatar way too much. I think I have changed it three times in the last year. Heck, people probably think I'm a new guy because of it;... because after-all, who reads the username. mini/tongue

Re: Café Corner

I remember GEF's old avatar.
WoodrowVillage had a very similar one and I thought it was the same person.
I guess avatars do matter or else some of us will get confused.

my dad doesn't want me to brickfilm on because it's his computer, but he's not home right now at the moment.

Re: Café Corner

Been planning out roughly what I want to make this year, and decided now would be a good time for me to buy some LifeLites. I need to get my finances in order, but after I finish Avengers Tower: Invasion early in March I want to get on and order some.

Looking back through my Favourite Animations playlist, one of the things which was clear was that motivated light sources really enhanced the image.

So Galactic Bricks has given me some suggestions, but would anyone else recommend any specific LifeLites packages/stuff?

Re: Café Corner

At last, official confirmation! Not that I didn't see it coming, of course, but it's nice that they've started making their decisions public now.

On another note, I just passed 900 subscribers!

Re: Café Corner

Been watching loads of tutorials on creating music in FL Studio. Who knew making music was so completed. mini/eek If any one has any suggestions or links to some good tutorials for FL Studio, I would be very grateful.

Re: Café Corner

A heads-up - David Pickett shared this discovery of a brickfilm Kickstarter with 8 hours to go that is very close to its goal, if anyone's interested:

Re: Café Corner

Wow, a great example of excellent set design coupled with people who don't understand photography or movies, it looks unbearable.
