Nice to see you're alive still here, Spider. How's life?

Re: Café Corner

It's going good. As everyone's figured out, I'm not really brickfilming anymore, or at least for the time being. I've been focusing more on writing. I'm contributing to a couple of different websites each month as well as writing for my personal blog. It's been a lot of fun. I'm also trying out Patreon. I wish stuff like Patreon had been around when I was brickfilming because I think it has more promise for funding creative pursuits than ad revenue.

Re: Café Corner

Just watched the season two Smallville episode 'Ryan' and nearly cried. Seasons eight to ten made me forget just how amazing the first few seasons can be (though they do have a lot of shaky moments). Need to go and buy season three and four...

Re: Café Corner

Hey Repelling Spider! I've heard you're name mentioned on this podcast and saw that you did the motion graphics for Say Goodnight Kevin. It was funny: I watched the first episode and thought I recognized your name, and then I looked it up and saw it that was! That's awesome you're doing some motion graphics stuff; I took a class for that and thought it was really interesting.

Haha yup, that's me! I dabble in a lot of different things. Motion graphics has always fascinated me, so when I got AE a few years ago I had to learn how it was done. I still have only grazed the surface of it. I want to get a lot better.

I met Kevin at a conference we both attended at the beginning of the year, and we went out to dinner with a couple of other people. He and I got to talking about motion graphics, and he asked if I wanted to do them for his show.

Re: Café Corner

Hey guyzzz, I've been working on this text-and-image DC universe blog serial. Would ya mind checking it out?

I made a thread about it a week ago, and then uploaded the second chapter yesterday.

Re: Café Corner

I'm back from Ukraine and Chernobyl, I'm still alive, just so you guys know.

Re: Café Corner

You've returned from possibly one of the most dangerous places in the world right now (which you willingly went to) - and your fine. You've survived radiation, mutated animals, Russian rebels, and anti-aircraft missiles. I imagine getting out of there must have been like the climax of Argo.

Kiev and Ukraine is a lovely place and I didnt feel threatened once really... Independence square was a bit eery with protesters still camping there and smashed glass and bullet holes everywhere...

And yes my balls are titanium, pure man.

Re: Café Corner

Is anyone going to "Bricks by the Bay" this weekend?  I'll be there on Sunday.  I enjoyed seeing Twickabrick and BuilderBrothers there last summer.  mini/smile

Re: Café Corner

Unfortunately I'm not, I'm away this summer. Speaking of which I uploaded a long update video detailing why I haven't animated anything in so long and what's currently being made, so go check it out if you care.

Unfortunately, I won't be there today after all.  Someone gave me free tickets to the convention, so I took my daughter yesterday.  It was great!  I got to go to BuilderBrother John's and Chris McKay's presentations and was able to shop and view the displays without all the crowds.  I also got to see the entries to the animation contest and enjoyed Pritchard Studios, Walter Benson, and Twickabrick's (as well as some others) films very much!  Have any of the winners been contacted yet?  I don't want to give anything away. mini/smile

I will miss seeing you Twickabrick, but have a great time at BbtB, and I hope to see you next year!
