Re: Café Corner
Just got my A level results - AAB in my subects, B in General and an A in EPQ - more than enough to get me a place at York uni, which is where I want to go, so I'm super pleased!!!

Made a super-lame Lego vine.
This is what happens when people give me nice things. I make lame things.
SPOILERS: This vine is lame.
I need to get better at using vine before I try this again, or I'll end up making something lame again.
Did anyone else in the San Francisco Bay Area feel that earthquake early Sunday morning?
Holy moly! What a way to wake up!

I have a friend who lives down there and somehow slept through the whole thing. I hope those who got the worst of it are alright.

From what I have heard/seen there are miraculously few serious injuries since it happened in the middle of the night. One 13-year-old boy had some bricks from a fireplace fall on him and he was air lifted to a hospital. I haven't heard how he is doing. There is a lot of breakage and building damage from the quake, water pipes bursting, and fire to deal with, however.
I saw that on Fox this morning. I'll be praying for those in your area, and the victim in the gas leak explosion in TX.
Hey, so, I need some help guys.
As part of the expansion of the broadcast arm of my schools journalism program, collectively referred to as THE LEAF, I'm trying to design a logo for this new division to help give it a better identity. This division will be referred to as WAVES.
I want to make the logo typographically similar to our main logo so that they look similar. My only problem is that the person who designed our logo graduated last year and no one bothered to write down what the font is. As a result, I'm kind of lost and was wondering if anyone could identify the font in our logo here:

Any help is appreciated! I have a feeling it's a really basic font and I'm just an idiot, but I want the help of BiM's expats just to be sure.

There are actually two fonts involved there. There's the font for "the" and then the font for "LEAF". The font for "the" looks like Century Gothic, or something close enough to make little difference.
I'm unsure however what the other font is. I spent a few minutes browsing through my own fonts to try to find it, however, I failed to locate your LEAF font. Either i don't have it or perhaps I missed it.
If possible, perhaps you could re-do the logo with a similar font, and then keep the consistency for your new font.
Identifont can be helpful with problems like this, though you've obviously got a very limited selection of characters here.
Not an animation, but I did meet Zach Macia's Ice Bucket challenge:
Thanks for the suggestions guys!

All the adobe creative suite programs come with new fonts, right? That's what we use, so Im wondering if it comes with those. Also, everyone in the class, including me, likes the logo pretty well so we don't want to change it.
I also did try Identifont, it's just that since I only have four letters to go on, I don't think Ill find anything no matter how long I search.
I think right now my only option is to go through all the fonts installed on the computers and see if I can find a match, unless anyone else can recognize it.

After two hours of animating, I only have two seconds of footage. ![]()

Can't believe I just made a Power Ranger minifig decal... and it actually looks okay.
EDIT: It's this guy. I'm tempted to do a Dredd-style (though not as gory or hyper-violent) shootout to prove that Power Rangers can be cool. That, and I've never made a shootout before.
I joined this great website 4 years ago today. It's weird to think that I was once a strange and awkward 12 year old and now I'm still a strange and awkward 16 year old.
Ah, how times have stayed the same.
P.S Arrrrg.....
You know what makes me feel old? The realization while watching some of Revmen's interview for the documentary that I have been running BiM for a longer period of time than he ran Brickfilms.com.
Wow. That's interesting. I guess time really flies - especially when you try to compare an ongoing thing to memories of the past. ![]()
I offer you some virtual cake, Smeagol. ![]()

Ya know what makes me go…o_0
The fact that I started making films when the kids were babies and now they're teens.
I set sail on brickfilming in the year o' 2007. That be some time ago now, though, it doesn't actually feel like that long. I wish I had joined BiM earlier.
