Re: Chroma key challenge (read rules)
yeah I agree, I'm glad masking is accepted.

(my brother and I took about an hour each).
I didn't take an hour.
New rules actualized
1. No double entries, just editing the same shot
2. Masking is okay
3. Judging positions will always be open and the one who wins will choose the theme, and has the option to judge with no trial or anything and he will be in charge of the thread.
My entry.
(No masking, by the way )

Adding a tiny bit of blur or feather to blend the image in is alright, but not having them in focus at all seems like a cop out.
Also, I don't think masking should be allowed, it's a lot easier to mask one frame, than to key it, and isn't the whole point of the contest to increase people's abilities at chroma keying? Knowing how to mask one frame exceptionally well, but not knowing how to key a clip of footage won't help you when you're brickfilming.
@The person who said keying and masking are the same: That's like saying drawing and painting use the same techniques because the results both make a picture. It takes a different set of skills to paint and draw, just the same as keying and masking.
But to contradict everything I've said, I usually mask things frame by frame rather than keying, because I've found that the reflections on Lego pieces are a nightmare to key out.

Meh, I can't be bothered to redo it. I did the greenscreening fine. If I had blurred out the city, you wouldn't be able to realize it was one.
