wsow this was wonderful! the one thing i didnt like (And this isnt about the animation, just a minor storyline detail) by the time this game was made, the storm troopers all had blasters that shot red bolts, not blue. Still incredible though mini/bigsmile  mini/bigsmile

Actually, it makes sense because this in in between the Galactic Civil War and The Clone wars. So, the stormtroopers had not yet changed their weapon types from blue to red.

Re: The Force Unleashed

I never decided to watch this until now, and sweet Jesus that was insane. That was more intense and well executed then half of the battles in Star Wars itself. The masking blew me away, I mean wow. Are you a god?

Re: The Force Unleashed

I loved this!! The first thing that popped into my head was, "that's what I WANTED to do in my film!" You nailed the cinematography for certain.

This would get a huge round of applause at the Cinequest screening in California that I attended this weekend.
If you can branch out into other medium (namely, 3D since it's the hot commodity) you might be able to hold down a career! (whatever that means mini/wink)

Congratuations on an awesome showpiece.

He wouldn't be able to enter it in a contest because it has Star Wars characters in it.

Re: The Force Unleashed

Dear Fancypants,

Not sure if you know who I am, but I was an old-school member over at brickfilms.com and even reviewed all the films at one stage. I now have a three year old son - which means I haven't animated at all for many years.

Hands down this is one of the best brickfilms I've seen. Just loved it.

It inspired me to animate again yesterday. Thank you.

I am a high school teacher, and I teach one class dedicated to stop motion animation. I'll be showing your film in class tomorrow (and a couple of your tutorials).

It's been a long time since I filmed my light saber battle for Jedi Chronicles The First Duel (have to plug it now don't I?) http://www.thehowlingfantods.com/brickt … -duel.html, your film brought back everything I put into it.

Thanks again,

Re: The Force Unleashed

I actually didn't watch this until just now. It's quite amazing. I wouldn't be one to use words like "masterpiece" with this, especially because it's more of a technical feat than anything else, but I was really impressed; seeing that kind of dynamic camerawork in a brickfilm is astounding.

EDIT: Let me add that I really hope you'll could find a way to combine this kind of technical virtuosity with equally good storytelling, as the result would be quite excellent.

Re: The Force Unleashed

Thanks Hali, I watched your video many times to help conjure ideas mini/smile

And that's really cool that you're going to show it at school,  I wish my high school had a stop motion class!

I could write a script for you! mini/bigsmile

Re: The Force Unleashed

Fancypants can right his own scripts. He's good like that.

Re: The Force Unleashed

Yeah, but I'd love to see a script of mine executed like THAT! mini/bigsmile

Re: The Force Unleashed

Then work hard on it, and maybe it will.

Re: The Force Unleashed

I thought I praised this film already, but apparently not.

Apart from being absolutely epic in almost every way, I feel that it lacked emotion, just like all the light saber duels in the latest starwars films. Though there was a nice piece of emotion in the end, I felt the rest of the film was just fancy moves.

I have a feeling that I'm going to get bashed now.

No, you're absolutely right.

Re: The Force Unleashed

True, Daragh, True, I loved it from start to finish and I have to say the masking was EXCEPTIONAL! I wouldn't have been surprised if this got in the Oscars. mini/bigsmile

Thanks
