Topic: Lego Stardestroyer (Star Wars opening scene)

Hi,
I want to show you what is left of an abandoned project. This is the beginning of a saga. of THE saga and you will see the famous opening scene of Star Wars in Lego mini/smile Maybe this is the premiere of the Stardestroyer model used in film, I'm not sure but anyway, have fun!

You pulled it off perfectly. Well done. Well done indeed.

Fantastic, how to you keep the Star Destroyer from falling apart while it was upside down? Mine comes apart when I just look at it.

that was awesome!

That was very, very good. Much better than the one LEGO made back in 2001, I think it was. How do you key out all the blue if the bluescreen didn't go all the way? Did you manully edit each frame?

Re: Lego Stardestroyer (Star Wars opening scene)

I just got to nitpick a tidbit where the Destroyer shifts slightly on a few frames and the obvious oscillation of the blockade runner, all of which could have be cleaned up in post-production.

Otherwise, great job.

I have to build myself rig like that.

Re: Lego Stardestroyer (Star Wars opening scene)

Thanks for your feedback.
Indeed it was hell to put the ISD upside down. I didn't expect the construction to be so loose. Still it's a fantastic work of Lego.
There has already been a lot of tweaking in post-production. When you compare the passes of the making of with the completed scene there was a lot more shaking which almost vanished thanks to VirtualDub Deshaker. But only almost. The keying was not easy too since I didn't put too much effort in a good bluescreen, but the area around the models was ok and the rest is covered by moving masks.

Very nice, thanks for sharing! Half the fun of this clip was the behind-the-scenes footage - it was very interesting and well done.

It is impossible that there be no absolutes. If such were the case, that in itself would be an absolute!

Re: Lego Stardestroyer (Star Wars opening scene)

That was very impressive
