This might just get me back into anermatin'. That is, if heliumfrog will work.
What problems are you having? When I first started using it it would have trouble but with the most recent version I have had no issues.

Last I tried to use it (which was a week ago or so), it randomly crashed and said it stopped working. I'll play with it, usually there are easy fixes.

if I was to do some more on my animation, and not do the masking would that detract from my entry if I was to submit it like that?

That was good fun, brickelodeon! The fighting was intense, although some of the actions seemed to go by a little bit quickly. I see you have the President Business hair…so jelly
