I was expecting something like the machine eating his brain or something, but what happened was both simpler, and far more satisfying. It's a fun twist.
The pacing could have been just a tad snappier, and I wasn't sure where the
crocodile came from. Yes, it fit into the theme of his being ignorant, and perceiving things in a false sense of reality, then having that come back to bite him. But, after the grounded and quite clever theft, the random appearance of the croc was a tad confusing.
But that's what I get for looking too deeply into things.
I'm not a fan of the post-production camera movements, it was over-done, and didn't come out feeling quite like the hand-held looking that you were aiming for. What it looked like was more akin to the shaky-cam used in action scenes.
Gotta say, the set is well-designed, and I like the helmet design.
