Congratulations Geouug on a well-deserved win!  I can't wait to see what you make next. mini/smile

Also, thanks to Pongowl for hosting this week, it was a lot of fun to participate in!

Re: The Animation Challenge

Since it is a day after the requirement for the new theme, isn't one of the moderators supposed to make the theme then? The only reason I ask this, is because I would like to take part in this challenge.
Thank you!

Re: The Animation Challenge

Be patient, "Geouug" is new to the forum, and might not know to post a new theme, a new challenge will be posted eventually, either by Geouug, or a moderator.

Re: The Animation Challenge

Ok. I guess I was getting a little impatient. Thanks for the info though. I am also new to this challenge.

Re: The Animation Challenge

Hey guys sorry about that!

The new theme is MINIMALISM!

Basically, try to create the most interesting animation possible with the fewest pieces or elements.

edit: The deadline is Wednesday, February 24th!

Re: The Animation Challenge

Thanks for making this theme! Would it work if I just had a minifigure and nothing else? Could you set a limit of parts? That way I know just how small you mean. mini/wink

Re: The Animation Challenge

I want to leave it somewhat open to interpretation, so I don't want to make a part limit. Just a minifig would work just fine, since I will be judging based on the quality of the animation primarily, but not necessarily the video that incorporates the fewest pieces.

However if you would still like a part limit, I would recommend fewer than 10 pieces. (This is not a requirement, however)

Thanks, that adds a little perspective to what I was thinking of doing. mini/smile

Re: The Animation Challenge

Here's mine
I used 10 pieces in total, including the baseplate.

I used more than 10 pieces, but I still consider it minimalist.
I also tried out face replacement for the first time.

It appears to be blocked under YouTubes restricted mode (because of the title?) if that's a problem for anyone, let me know and I will upload it somewhere else.

Nope! Your video worked fine for me. mini/bigsmile

Re: The Animation Challenge

This is an interesting challenge - I will make one tonight and hopefully squeeze in before the deadline thanks to time difference.

Re: The Animation Challenge

These are all really great, guys! It has been a difficult decision, but the winner is: legodave1! I really enjoyed the ...expressiveness of your chicken figure. mini/lol It is even funnier the second time when you know what's coming. Congratulations on the win!

The runners up are Raptor Studios and 1999mrlegoman. Raptor, I liked the way you animated the color of the bricks in addition to the bricks themselves. I bet you could make a full-length animation in that style. mrlegoman, your animation fit the theme well, but you didn't sacrifice details in favor of simplicity. I saw that blink! mini/wink

Re: The Animation Challenge

Thanks Geouug - glad you enjoyed it - and well done to everyone else who entered!

Now for a new theme - how about a minifigure interacting with a simple household object from the "real world"
Without going back through the archives I don't know if this has already been done?
Hope it makes sense and this challenge can be very imaginative - Deadline is Tuesday 1st March - Have Fun.
