Re: Critique My Frame!

Hey.  I'd like you critiquers to vote on which frame you would use if you're putting this in your brickfilm.

A character observes a traffic light camera in Holding Our Own: Episode 4.  I shot 17 photos of the camera, and limited my selection down to what I think are the five best.  I'm not sure which is my favorite though I'm leaning towards #2, so I'm posting all five onto Tumblr to allow BiM fans decide the best one.  The images have been resized smaller so they don't take over everybody's screens, and may have slightly lost sharpness, so that shouldn't be a criteria for deciding.

By the way, I get a vote.  My favorite is number K2.  My wife gets a vote.  Her favorite is K3.

Re: Critique My Frame!

I like the first picture because the camera angle mimics what the character would see. It is from a minifigure's eye view. Though, I also like #4 because the framing is good and the focus is sharp. But overall, the first one is the best, IMO.

Like rioforce, I feel that #1 is the most realistic.

I agree with Osom, rio, and Brickcrazy.

Re: Critique My Frame!

I looked at some images on Bing (for the sake of holding our own), most cameras aren't placed in the area you placed it.
As for my favourite camera, I cant really tell. They all look the same to me.

Much better. You definitely got the look and feel of an underwater city and the 'king' on his throne. I just think the green screen could be better as I see some green spill around the walls and spears in the centre.

thanks.
yeah, I am wondering, I kinda like it there, reflecting the force field behind them, I could keep it out.....

Re: Critique My Frame!

Well, #1 it is!  You all helped change the outcome of the film.  Like KD2000 said, the light is awfully close to the corner house.  That's okay with me.  Though I like to be realistic & detailed, I also know that Lego is an iconic representation of things, and it works well enough.  That corner house is actually the back of the basement that I'm building for the next scene!  Thanks everyone.  I will be using picture 2 later on in the episode, just for variety.

Ouch.
That came off a touch harsh Cat.

I really like the water-y feel to the frame, and the set looks great for an unique throne room. And I love the teal lighted window things on each side. But the greenscreen spill is excessive, and fairly distracting. Off to the side it looks fine, but around the spears just comes off as a bit odd.

Re: Critique My Frame!

Sorry, no harshness ment. I ment that Holdingourown has got a answer answer and acted on it. sorry if it seems harsh...

I am pondering getting a blue screen for it and have a new lens coming... should help that a little.

so you think it looks like aquaman is a little more Bada$$ then normal?

Re: Critique My Frame!

Can you get a bit of light on that throne perhaps?  Open a small bit of the set roof?  When I think thrones I don't think dark corners - which is what I'm seeing.
