George Lucas has confirmed he's not dead. While all the Legends stuff isn't canon anymore, he is confirmed to have lived on beyond RotJ. I personally think he's a great character who was sadly underused and died a stupid death. Glad to see he gets a second chance. Now what they will do with him hasn't been confirmed. And while he's in the Battlefront DLC, I believe he's just on Tatooine which takes place before RotJ.

I am very excited for the trailer tomorrow. I also wonder who the first person to recreate it in LEGO will be. (Possibly Solid Brix Studios?)
Official movie poster finally revealed!!! New and final trailer expected tomorrow. Can't wait!

I mean heck, Han, Leia and Chewy are on there.
Unless this is one of those 'Where's Waldo' type of posters and I missed it.

Apparently you haven't seen any of the other promotional content (trailers, images, etc.) that clearly indicates that it's Poe Dameron in that uniform, not Luke.
Let's just simplify it: Given the lack or limited number of images of Mark Hamill and the immediate take downs of any leaked images of him on set, clearly Disney/Lucasfilm is keeping Luke's involvement under wrap until the movie is out.
