I ditched Windows Movie Maker and used AnimatorDV Simple+
Hope there's improvements...

Thanks Moo-C-J & Hazzat for the tips.
There's deffinatly improvement, it could still use a little work though, it doesn't look smooth enough, but maybe that's because of the quality of the movie.
How high is your fps now? It might still be too low. (15fps is used by most people)
I think your camera re-adjusts itself after every frame, because you got a lot of light flicker and the focus changes. If you can, put all settings on manual.
Keep it up, you're doing great.
It looked to me like all settings were on manual. I think you need a better camera though - the quality's not great!
The only thing I would say about the cycle is that the arms swung a bit too much. Normal people only swing their arms very subtly, so you should try and recreate this in your animation.
Yup everything's on manual, me thinks the webcam's quality not up to standard too. Will invest in a QP7k soon. In the meantime, I'll focus on my technique.
I'm trying to figure out how to smoother the walk-cycle, is this ok?

I followed the technique mentioned at stopmotioncentral.com
What about a CP9k? That will probably have better quality.
I know. I have it. I was just suggesting it.

It just looks odd to me. :s The framerate looks too low but you said it was shot at 15fps. Do you compress your file and if you do, do you compress it as 15 fps?
I don't use AnimatorDV, but in Sony Vegas you get to chose/set the fps you want your video to be, so if you can do this in AnimatorDV as well, make sure it's 15 fps as well. ![]()
A good thing: No light flicker in that test. ![]()
