Topic: LEGO Creator Small Cottage Stop-Motion Animation Build.

Hello everyone!  Happy to be here.  I just started getting into stop-motion animation.  I've only been doing stop-motion builds for now as I try to learn how to do these things right.  Here's a build video I made of the LEGO Creator Small Cottage:

I was still struggling with light flicker, but I seem to have found how to almost completely eliminate it in the latter part of the video.  I also have a limited amount of sound effects and have only been using what was available with the editing software that I was using, iMovie.

Please let me know what you think on this video.  I am open to comments and suggestions on how to improve stuff.  Looking forward to hearing from you all, thanks.

Nice stuff there! It went kind of slow in the middle, but once you started building the roof, it went better. The flicker may be due to natural light in your room, flickering florescent lamps, your shadow, or automatic settings on your camera. There are many reasons. You should check out END Films' tutorial on how to reduce light flicker.

Thanks for the tips on how the causes of flicker.  I shall make sure that I have those checked when I do another video.  Thanks for the link to END Film's as well, though I wish they would come out with a Mac version of the app (it was Windows only).

Cool Channel as well; subbed!

If you've been doing stop mo for a short time it certainly doesn't look like it.  You've got the right lighting, a quality camera, nice clean background (ie a dust free desk).

Can I suggest that instead of the camera jumping around a lot that you instead pan the camera - or pan the set - if you get my meaning.  It would provide good practice and expand your skill set.  Instead of jumping to the construction of the roof, pan the camera to a new workspace and then pan the camera back to the cottage.  That's an essential skill evryone needs to practice.  mini/smile

Suggestion noted, thanks!  I shall try camera panning then on my next attempt.  It does sound like it would be a good skill set to practice on.  Wow!  Now that got me totally inspired, thanks!
