Well, sadly, I've found that Hitfilm 2 Express isn't' the best video editing program in my case. I can barely edit my film when there's a pretty good chance that sounds won't play or clips won't show up. I really don't like editing blindly, but I can't go back to my normal video editor(which plays back so much better) because that editor screws up the quality so much that the mod elements wouldn't be visible. It is rather sad, I worked so hard to get all the animation done which I did, and my video editor won't let me properly edit my film. I will try as hard as I can for the next few hours to complete the editing job in a somewhat decent manner, but there's no guarantee I'll finish in time.
I long for the year that I can actually say I entered BRAWL instead of saying I attempted it. Hopefully that'll be this year. If I don't accomplish anything, I can at least say that I probably won't be using Hitfilm much anymore.

Whats your normal video editing software? Have you tried using iMovie?
I only have about a minute and a half left to animate, then I have to finish editing, and I'll be done. I'm thinking of pulling an all-nighter to get the film done as fast as possible. LETS. DO. THIS.

If I finish mine today I might be able to help you out.
Also here is another shot from my film:

Get excited
I am now more interested in seeing your film than any other.
In other news, I'm behind. Things aren't all quite well here at ANP.
I'm going to try though.
Film #2 is dead for sure, though, and that's a shame.

Do you think you'll still get done in time, though? You seem to have worked really hard on your film, so it would be a shame if you didn't finish in time.

I hope you finish it. I've been looking forward to your film most of all.

Yeah, actually that's what I've used for all of my other projects. I actually might have a solution now though, so don't worry.
This has been me, all evening. For the last hour I've been reshooting stuff, which is super annoying.
Using a program that you never used to edit your brawl entry is not a good idea.
I've finished animating! Now all that remains is visual and audio editing. Man, it feels good to be done.
Here's the final frame of my film.
I like it, though wide-screen would eliminate the emptiness to the top and bottom and help focus attention more on the subject. The framing is a bit off, as he is not dead center, but not quite enough off to either side. But it's not that off, and still looks fine.
The set looks nice, and the bookshelves are great. But what's the brown thing on the right? The dark red brick looks more brown, and I hope it still counts. Finally, where'd you get that head? I don't recall seeing it before.

It only comes in one set, because it's the head of the main character of the LEGO City Undercover videogame. His name is Chase McCain or something along those lines.

Thanks!
My video editor has a fixed aspect ratio, so the very top and bottom will be cropped. The brown thing is the globe from the Town Hall/POTC Captain's Cabin sets, and the head is the Chase McCain head from the 2013 Police sets (I got it in this set). I really like this head for some reason, it's quite possible I'll end up using it in some other brickfilms.
I suppose Virgil Wolf is a bit off-centre, but if you consider his outstretched arms to be part of the main subject along with the rest of his body he is actually centred. I see your point about the mod element--in this particular shot it does look brown. However, in other shots it's more obvious that it's dark red. I had some problems with the colour mod, as red and orange are pretty bright colours generally, and it's difficult to incorporate them if you want a more subdued colour palette.

Is that the "release the hounds!" guy?
I don't have time to finish my previous idea, so now to work on my new shorter idea.

Two sets. I got 5 of these for $1 each at Walmart (came with one of those new game hold cards)
