Topic: Sales & Deals Thread

Hey guys.
Just thought I'd start a thread about great sales or cheap deals when it comes to Lego (or lego-like) things.

Lots of local Walmarts here in Southern California have tons of Lego sets on clearance right now.
Easter sets, small City sets and the Friends sets are mainly what I saw.

Loads of Star Wars sets and keychains on sale at the Lego shop online…

Re: Sales & Deals Thread

Good idea, I too have seen a lot on sale at Walmart.  Mine had galaxy squad, chima, and city for sure.  I don't remember any other big themes beyond those.  Some of the galaxy squad sets were 50% off.

Re: Sales & Deals Thread

WalMarts int he mid-Atlantic US have deeply discounted Galaxy Squad toys.  A local toy store will be selling a few older sets at below wholesale prices, including Iron Man's mansion, which I am considering.

Re: Sales & Deals Thread

Seeing more Lego sets in the clearance section of Walmart and Target again.
Most likely making room for the upcoming holidays.
The discounted sets I saw were Chima and older Friends sets.

Also, there's some kind of "Lego Special Event" going on this weekend at participating Toys R Us stores.
Dunno if there will be freebies or discounts, but I'm sure it's something to keep an eye out for.

Re: Sales & Deals Thread

The local walmart has no friends sets on discount here.  I wish!  I saw a gang of them on shop.lego.com a few weeks ago, but they all were sold out!

Re: Sales & Deals Thread

Walmart always offers something BIG like that for Black Friday every year.  Strangely, I didn't see it at my local one thie time around.  And I was hoping SOMETHING from Friends was reduced for a sale.

I heard the K-Mart ads saying "All Lego is 30% off!"  I listened a few times to the commercial to made sure I heard that right.  Well, they lied.  When I got there, less than half the sets were on sale, and most by $1 to $1.50.  The few that were 30% off were either discontinued sets or ones that no one wanted (Chima).  It's not that I was black Friday crazy or anything, but I did take one of my kids out and thought maybe at that prices, I could pick up a large Friends set or something I've been holding out on getting.

Wow... for those more used to measuring LEGO prices by the piece (Like me... I love Bricklink mini/tongue), this is less than two cents per piece! A great way to get some variety, and bulk up your brick collection, as well as get some Mixels eyes.

Why didn't they just say 4+? Does this mean that if you're a hundred or more you're too old? That's not very fair. mini/tongue  There's a guy at my church who's 94... I'll tell him he'll soon grow out of LEGO. mini/tongue

Re: Sales & Deals Thread

Those types of age ranges are always funny... common with Creativity for Kids/Faber-Castell is "for 7 to 107".  Then there was one of my son's CDs, "Philadelphia Chickens", which I couldn't listen to for a whole year until recently because it was "for all ages, except 43." (Look in the lower right)

This seems off topic.

Re: Sales & Deals Thread

Thank you, Nathan.

*ahem* Back on topic...
Toys R Us just added a bunch of 'building sets' to their clearance section.
Mostly Chima, but there's a couple of goodies thrown into the mix.
Such as Star Wars and Hobbit sets...

Uh, what toy store in Cape May, NJ has this 45% off sale then?

The point of the Sales & Deals thread is to let other people here on the forum know about awesome sales & deals on Lego (and other Lego related products). Prices, where the sale is taking place and for how long is helpful as well.
If the sale is online, a link to the sale would be great.

Re: Sales & Deals Thread

Hey, sorry Dew Films.

It's officially called The Toy Shop of Cape May.  They will be there until New Years' eve.  The city is quiet in winter and that store will close for two months.  Then the sale will resume.
