Re: Sales & Deals Thread

I couldn't find a better topic to put this in: LEGO is finally selling tan (brick yellow) 32x32 baseplates by themselves! I just picked up a couple at the LEGO store. On top of that, the price has gone down. Last time I bought a 32x32 baseplate it was around $10, but these tan ones were $7 or $8, I forget which.

Re: Sales & Deals Thread

Nice! I should pick up one or two for myself.

Re: Sales & Deals Thread

The old Lego store price for baseplates was $5 in the US and now they charge $8. Ripoff!

Re: Sales & Deals Thread

Neat. When I go to the LEGO Store, I plan on buying some baseplates. I've been meaning to get some for a while now. I'm glad they have tan, now I can buy tan and blue and make a beach or something. They also have light gray on the LEGO Shop website.

Wait, what? I'm in the US, and when I bought my blue 32x32 baseplate, it was $10. Where have you been getting yours?

Re: Sales & Deals Thread

$10 is a rip-off.  Anywhere I see them for $7 or $8.  Maybe Toys R Us has them for more.  They've been above retail prices for the past few years.

My lego store sold them for $5 until this year.

Re: Sales & Deals Thread

Did anyone else take advantage of the BIONICLE 'Hero pack' deal? It's basically just that you get an exclusive trans-orange Mask of Fire with any purchase; definitely on in the UK, not sure about other parts of the world. I just got my order today and I can't stop looking at that mask - it reminds me of Rinzler's glowyness from TR2N, the way all the edges seem to be naturally highlighted.

Re: Sales & Deals Thread

Maybe I got my baseplate from Toys R Us. I thought I got it from the LEGO store, but could easily be wrong.

I didn't take the BIONICLE deal. I'm not really planning to buy any sets anyway, though. They'd be cool to have, but there are too many other things I like more.

Re: Sales & Deals Thread

Are the tan baseplates tan tan or the beige-type tan?

Re: Sales & Deals Thread

Yeah, someone was in the chat the other day about what I considered the overpriced hospital set being at WalMart for $17.  I checked my local one and there were sales of their own, including some of the newer Chima (does anyone buy this stuff?  The store I work at won't carry Chima again) and the Milano, retail $75, for $35!  Great price.  Good for person wanting the bricks; I don't thin kit's that special of a set except the minis.  But check your own local WalMart for perhaps your own sales!

Awww, man! I forgot to reply to this when you originally posted it. mini/tongue

They're the regular "tan tan".

Yes, I purchased the LEGO City hospital for $17. There were a lot of other sets on sale too. Early in the year is the best time to get LEGO on sale, because with Christmas being over, and new LEGO lines coming in, stores put the old stuff on sale to make room for the new.

Re: Sales & Deals Thread

On Monday Lego Chima single speedorz sets that nobody wants are $5 at the Toy Shop of Cape May in New Jersey.  Twin speedorz sets are like $9 something.

Re: Sales & Deals Thread

Just got word that the Toy Shop of Cape may will have wave 1 and 2 chima with speedorz at $5 for single and $9.44 for doubles in Cape May's annual sidewalk sale; this will be Saturday only.  And K-Marts throughout south Jersey have Chima on sale.  (And probably everyone else.)

Re: Sales & Deals Thread

Just picked up the Ultra Agents Hurricane Heist for $35 in my Walmart Clearance aisle. Regular $70! That's 50% off for those of us who may be too lazy to do the math. mini/tongue

Re: Sales & Deals Thread

20% off Lego sale this weekend at Toys R Us.
Creator, Friends, Duplo and City sets are part of the sale.
