Well said.

Wouldn't you say, though, that a lot of the main culprits when it comes to making movies for money only are rated PG or PG-13? I also dislike excessive violence, but I don't see it as such a threat.

How could you say that as a SAW fan ?

A true SAW fan thinks that the first one is the best.

That's probably the stupidest thing I've read all day.

Just because someone says they like something else that you, and probably a few others you know don't like, doesn't mean they can't a be a true fan of it.

Jackass

This movie isn't award-worthy, but it is pretty hilarious. The stupidity of what they are doing makes you want to watch more. I liked when the blew air horns when golfers were about to shoot. The buzz thing was hilarious too.

Jumper

This movie was okay, I liked the jumping special effects. There was just something missing that made me not think it was that good, but I can't put my finger on it. The narration parts were stupid.

How can you use them in the wrong way? How are they supposed to be used? Sex is sex. Violence is violence.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Lots of recent films have graphic, gory violence and/or sex scenes leaving nothing to the imagination.

edit: lol

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Why do people equate the two though?

Because that's the too most terrible things that comes up first in the mind of a sheltered religious boy.

Believe me, I would know. I go to homeschool co-op.

The ShawShank Redemption

This is by far one of the greatest movies ever. The pacing felt just right, the jokes were well timed. The story didn't detract and the ending was just down right genius. Go watch this film now.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

ShawShank?

What? Is it the extra capital 'S'?

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I do believe it is Shawshank, but I have no idea why it is that important to point the error out.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

It just looks so strange, like a company name. I wonder why anybody would write it that way.

The Man From Earth

Not perfect, but still incredibly impressive. The premise and the writing are amazing, with some strong acting as well.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

MOVIE MADNESS!!

Hancock

Not so good, but pretty good.

Horton Hears A Who

LAME

Beethoven's 5th... or Beethoven's 4th... whichever one had the girl and Uncle Freddy.

Eh.

uh... there was  another movie that I saw, I forgot what it was.

Die Hard: With A Vengeance

YAY! I love movies like these. It was better than Die Hard: Die Harder.

It's called acting talent.

How can you use them in the wrong way? How are they supposed to be used? Sex is sex. Violence is violence.

They should be used to compliment the story, and not as the main plot point. Take Lord of the Rings. The violence in that film helps portray the stakes, and it makes Frodo and Sam's quest even more important. But with other films, it seems to be just about the violence, sex, or horribly unfunny jokes. Since I don't go see the films that look to me like violent films, I can't come up with many good examples. But I did try and look one of them up, and it looks like it's all about the violence and sex. Where is the story in that film? A guy comes out and starts killing people with a pick-axe. Right. Some story.

If more film makers thought their stories and characters out more, they would be making a lot more money. There was a passage in a book called "Characterization and Viewpoints" that explains this, but I'm too lazy to write the whole thing in this post.
