Re: 2015: The Contest

You can make a one to two hour brickfilm between now and next May?

I think that would be a little unfair on people who don't have the time to commit to anything greater than an extract. Besides, it's better to create something short and high quality than a whole feature that's not to the same level. Please stick to the constraints of the contest.

Ok. Will submit a trailer for the feature film, submit that, and release the film it in December. It is soooo going to be bigger than Star Wars. mini/lol

The rules say-
"Must not be a presold idea, by which I mean no adaptations of books, films, comics or video games. Pieces from licensed themes like Star Wars and The Hobbit may be used, but no characters, locations or storylines or anything that could be construed as an element of published fiction."

I never said I was making a Star Wars film mini/tongue I only said that my film would (sarcastically) be bigger than the Star Wars film they're conveniently making at the same time as mine. I actually have some ideas for my own feature length film, and if I do well in this contest, it will be a good promotion for it mini/smile

I haven't made a brickfilm since Thac, and man that was a long while ago. Guess its time to actually get motivated and make something. Plus if anyone needs any help with Visual effects in After Effects please feel free to PM me!

Re: 2015: The Contest

So, how's everyone getting along? Has anyone started animating their entries?

wat.

I'm probably going to start on my entry soon. I've got a few Ideas that I think might work, but I want to get more bigger projects that will come out soon done before working on something that comes out basically a year from now.

Re: 2015: The Contest

I haven't started animating it yet.  I'm still scripting. mini/confused  Whilst I have an amazingly good idea for the scene I wish to animate, I still need to decide how the actual film would end.  And I have to somehow make it a) non-cheesy (especially important since it would be a very serious film) and b) not make it seem like I ripped off a bunch of stuff.  I guess I'm a bit behind since I'd hoped to be roughly finished with scripting.  I think I can still make it though, I'll have to see how it goes.

Re: 2015: The Contest

Looks interesting. I read about this earlier in the year, but forgot about it. I am already thinking of making a longer length epic comedy brickfilm, so maybe I can make that and make submit the trailer for it here. mini/smile

Only if you haven't start animating it yet. If you started before the contest was announced then that would give you an unfair advantage. Welcome aboard!

Re: 2015: The Contest

I have had the script written and the minifigs built. This is one of the next one or two films I will begin animating when I can.

Re: 2015: The Contest

Is it okay if my entry is based on a true story?

Re: 2015: The Contest

That's fine, yeah.
