I'm personally really glad that Christian Bale isn't going to play Batman. Not that I didn't love him as Batman, but it just wouldn't be the same. Especially because

At the end of The Dark Knight Rises, he just wants to be done being Batman. Just let him be happy. :'(
But also, that would make everyone in Gotham be like "Oh. Well I guess he's not dead. Huh." In addition, it would reveal that Superman exists in that universe. Where was he when all the events in TDKR took place?I also would like to know whether this film will revert back to the more cartoon-ish Batman or will it be more dark like past three Batman films. And if that is the case, I can foresee some criticism along the lines of "Oh, this was too much like The Dark Knight Trilogy! Those films did it perfectly!"
But I am really curious to see how this will turn out.
Superman doesn't exist in the Nolan verse, at least nobody knows if he does or not. Superman only exists in Zack Snyder's verse. Whenever Man of Steel 2: Batman vs Superman comes out, it will be the Batman/Bruce Wayne of Snyder's verse not Nolan's. Even though it would be everybody's dream to see Christian Bale and Nolan to team up again, it's not going to happen. I'm just hoping Nolan helps out again with Snyder and he helps make the new Batman.
No Aquaman?

Honestly, I don't know why everyone loves Aquaman so much. I'd rather Snyder create a Wonder Woman or Flash movie before Aqua (So glad they're finally giving Flash his own movie).
I don't mind it all that it's underway... but they should take more time with these films.
Man Of Steel should have a sequel of it's own first and a second maybe (a nice trilogy right there)
Meanwhile DC could have time to fix other sh*t. (Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, The Flash, they are actually gonna make a flash film though before Justice League)
And Batman can be last sinds The Dark Knight Rises is just a year old and fresh in mainstream audience their minds. Not that I care what the main moviegoer thinks but heck, they are gonna be confused.

I've seen a lot of people who have been yelling for an Aquaman movie far more than Wonder Woman, Green Lantern/Arrow, etc. So I guess my comment was more of a general statement.

I completely agree that MoS should have its own sequel prior to uniting with another hero. Superman is a strong enough character to have two stand alone films ($640m isn't bad for a reboot).

I agree that Man of Steel should have his own sequel before teaming up (or battling as it may be) with another hero. I also think that if he should team up, I don't know if he should team up with Batman - or just Batman, I should say.
Maybe what makes this team wanted by many people is the fact that they are so different (my opinion) - too different maybe?.
Also what will they face? If it is indeed each other...

- sorry about that; had to get it out of my system. The most I think I would tolerate would be the two disagreeing with each other and have a heated argument (which is explosive if the arguers? 
are heroes - powers or not)

Ben affleck confirmed as Batman...
Makes sense. Ever since Argo everyone's been like: "Wow! Ben Affleck actually CAN act!" so his name will probably add a lot to this film.
Hopefully to prepare for the role, he will actually practice a voice instead of just smoking 50 packets a day. I seem to be the only one who likes this decision, possibly because I've always thought Christian Bale was the worst part of the Nolan films (aside from Bane...and that woman we don't know who turned out to be the ultimate puppetmaster...and the amount of characters and subplots Nolan fails to juggle....and the amount of tell-not-show moments...and how the films all took themselves waaay too seriously....OK I'll shut up before my inbox gets flooded with hatred like the last time I criticised Christopher Nolan)

I really don't see him owning the role. I'm gonna be thinking "That's Ben Affleck" whenever he's on screen, not "That's Bruce Wayne".

Rather calm response here regarding the news. Quite an uproar on social media. He has the look for Bruce Wayne, but I don't see him as Batman.
I agree that he was picked because of his recently recognition and acclaim but wouldn't he be better off as the director of this sequel rather than act in it?
I know this seems really hypocritical coming from me, but I don't get why everyone is going "Oh, he made Daredevil ten years ago - that means he's going to suck". People forget that back then Ben Affleck was merely Affleck The Grey, and since Daredevil he has quietly retreated from the public eye to realise that his previous work sucked. It was then he returned as Affleck The White, and gave us Argo - which was pretty damn good.
This is kind of like when Colin Firth decided he was done doing soppy romantic roles and was going to bag himself an Oscar. Or when Helen Miren got fed up with appearing topless in X-Rated art-house films and decided she was going to evolve into an actress who defined class and dignity...and also bag herself an Oscar.
Hilariously, this negative reaction was the same one Michael Keaton got - which was impressive considering that the internet didn't even exist back then.
Time will tell, I guess. If Heath Ledger surprised us, this better be a good surprise from Affleck.
I think he's a good actor, but I just don't see him as Bruce Wayne or Batman. He could surprise everyone and turn out to be the perfect man for the part, but based on previous evidence (both in his good and terrible acting roles), I just don't see it working.
I guess we'll get an idea when they release the trailers...
Man, I just don't think this Heath Ledger guy is going to be able to pull off the Joker. Such a weird choice. He's a teenage dreamboat, not a psychopathic clown.
